It finally happened. After almost a decade, Stardew Valley has been dethroned as my most-played game on Steam. #TheLongDark is the new champ, overtaking SDV during the Dance with the Darkwalker tournament. Wild how much TLD and the community around it has changed my life, and I'm so grateful for it.

A screenshot of TrooperBari's most-played games on Steam. The Long Dark is the new leader at 1,398.5 hours, passing Stardew Valley's 1,392.7 hours. The other games listed are Civilization VI, Europa Universalis IV, Surviving Mars, Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines, Growing Up, Hades II, Elden Ring, Cyberpunk 2077, Stellaris, Hades, House Flipper, and Mars Horizon.

None of this is ever attempted to be understood by anti trans campaigners, or most sport federations btw. The IOC actually did work to understand this but let federations take their own tailor made approach and they just used it to politically harm trans athletes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

When trans people bristled at policies that required time to be on hormones before being able to join elite competition it was because: -time on HRT was arbitrary -testosterone level achieved was arbitrary -maintaining testosterone levels continually is arbitrary -no one else had these restrictions

I need people to understand that for the last half decade that there’s been an ecosystem of trans folks in sports media who have worked unpaid to serve as experts for context, sources and educators on what it’s like for trans athletes, in hopes of potential bylines and contacts. That’s dried up.

I hate sounding like a conspiracy person but there’s a reason that this Sophie Cunningham thing is on like day 7 of discourse and how there’s absolutely very little trans staff writers driving the news coverage of it.

That said, let us take a moment to thank our Bluesky Trans and Furry Elders for freaking out Jack Dorsey so much he bolted and left us this nice social media playground, taking most of his crypto chuds with him. We thank you for your service.

Well, actually, kinda, yeah, close to what happened. It's not for nothing that Jack Dorsey, who started the place and was on its board, basically ran away when the trans folks and furries scared off all the crypto bros he assumed would be the natural demographic here (they went to Nostr instead).

Bluesky often seems like a project run by tech people who place great value on its architectural differences from Twitter, which nobody cares about, while not understanding how they walked ass-backwards into having a userbase (whomst they fear and despise)

It’s important to understand that when 1.2 million Americans are dying from a disease, any government action is excessive and tyrannical, but if a dozen trans women want to play soccer no government action can go far enough

It's hard to articulate the change in the trans community over the last few years. Before it was like "Man, this is hard, there's so much ignorance out there, but we're making it work, we're making it better, it won't be like this forever. Now it's like "Oh, they want us dead."

especially coming on the heels of MeToo and with BLM later in the summer. "Things can quickly change across an entire society" was very frightening for them and they expending massive amounts of money and effort to try to prevent it from happening again.

Another study on youth transition that find that about 97% of all youth who says they're trans turn out to be. Only 1.1% who start HRT stopped it for any reason whatsoever. This is, like, the fifth youth transition study that I'm aware of, and all of their results have been identical.

Canadian researchers found that 97 percent of youth who seek treatment for gender dysphoria still identify as trans years later.

1.1% of the country is muslim 1% of the country is trans both have double the poverty rate of the average american apparently these 1% can take over the entire country but the 1% that holds ~37% of the total wealth aren't doing anything worth looking into
