Royals, Chiefs, Marquette fan. Board game and cocktail enthusiast. NGO advocacy in the streets, snarky progressive politics in the skeets. Thoughts are my own.

correct are you serious about beating fascism or not? get in, we’re beating them in november you can be mad, you can be disappointed, but at the end of the day having someone with D in any and all seats is better than having someone with an R in them

I meant to post this last night but if you’re mad about any of the primary results you got 24 hours to bleed, try not to say anything you’ll regret in 48, and then it’s Blue No Matter Who.

Doctors say that you should eat a balanced diet that includes whole grains and fresh fruits and vegetables. A guy who snorts cocaine off toilet seat seats and doesn’t wipe his ass says you should subsist entirely on sauerkraut and steak. For a busy eaters it can be hard to know who to trust.

SARS-CoV-2 did not come from a lab. There is no evidence pointing to laboratory origins. There’s been a massive disinformation campaign to convince the public otherwise. It’s scary how effective that campaign has been.

If you show up to Bluesky without following anyone, you'll be treated to a series of posts about art, music, and dogs. If you show up to X without following anyone, you'll be bombarded with right-wing conspiracies and white supremacist slop. It's weird which one is seen as a "political bubble"

Republicans love pushing vocational-only education instead of comprehensive-education because they want a healthy supply of low-cost servants and less competition for the professional and boss jobs they want their own kids to have.

In a college sociology class in the late 1980s I was assigned a Marxist analysis of education that argued that the US education system is designed primarily to produce efficient workers for the labor market. And now Trump’s Department of Education is just tweeting it out.

As everyone knows from experience, some parents were already psycho and weird about kids sports when nothing was at stake. Now they’re pouring thousands of dollars into it and firmly believe something very important is at stake. Of course it was going to become an ideological warzone.

There are more people who've parlayed middling athletic prospects into profitable careers decrying the inclusion of trans women in sports than there are trans women in sports.

I think this is pretty easily attributable to the fact that people evolved as hunter/gatherers, and the thrill of the chase is a hugely important part of human development and contentment. It's simultaneously why being a billionaire (thus having access to whatever you want) turns brains into mush.

It’s hard to explain but tv was better when you couldn’t watch the show you wanted whenever you wanted to watch it and most of the shows were worse and the TVs were worse and the entire experience was worse, that’s when it was better

It's pretty infuriating that Trump is denying disaster aid to Oregon for political reasons and I have barely heard anything about it, while Biden was falsely accused of doing the exact same thing to North Carolina and millions of people believed that

I agree that leftists on social media can be too glib about how upsetting it is to see people suffering on the streets. That is, however, roughly 198th on my list of priorities on this issue. "we can't address this until people stop annoying me on the internet" is fucking asinine and *everywhere*

As a fiscal conservative deficit hawk, there’s no way I could support a $1.5 trillion budget. Unless that $1.5 trillion was for an alcoholic Fox News weekend anchor who’s losing a war to Iran’s third tier army.
