There's something diminishing about living in a world where men's abuse is so ubiquitous and unimpeded, and still women are chided for not thinking enough of men's woes, men's harms, men's feelings. We're constantly asked why we don't tolerate our endless violation with more dignity.
Rebecca Solnit@rebeccasolnit.bsky.social · 14h agoIt's demoralizing living in a nonstop Abuse-a-thon: we've had to learn the sordid details of so many men's abhorrent behavior; I mean this summer has been Graham Platner, Andrew Tate, Jared Leto, Max Miller, plus the horrific L.A. rape-murder of the child by the rapper, to name a few lowlights.
I cannot emphasize how much of a non-issue this is. I use the women's. Doctors ask when my last period was. Airport security looks back up at me when I hand them my passport. I have navigated life smoothly as a woman for years, and I am only endangered by the ideological fixations on denying that.

This has been studied quite a bit, the solar panels create a sort of greenhouse effect for the plants underneath them while also generating energy which feels like it should be cheating but is real and literally only has upsides.
