I disagree. During the Southport riots Starmer came down heavy. Condemned it very early, made sure the CPS drafted in extra resources to ensure arrests & charges were quick. His Govt responded by bolstering law enforcement. Burnham has done nothing. Took Mahmood over a week to say anything at all!

Worrying scenes in the Channel today, for all interested in asylum policy and maritime tactics. A small boat from Normandy spent more than 30 hours at sea. Those on board now on their 2nd rescue vessel as Border Force forced to play cat and mouse with far-right activists who have their own boat.

I watched it live on TV. I'm pretty jaded about watching politicians spew nonsense and make mad decisions, but when Kwarteng announced the 45p rate cut I did shout out loud "what the fuck are you doing!?"
