Seeing the Irish president, Catherine Connolly, come to Belfast near everyday if not everyday for the historical moment of Fleadh Cheoil being hosted here for the first time is wholesome - a president walking through the city, watching people play, going to the pub. Presidency is different here.

Today, we learn the CEO of state owned ESB has a pay rise to €410k. Such blatant unfairness is a result of EU deregulation of the energy sector in the 90s.
