Same. I didn't grow up in an abusive household or anything but the Internet was actually great and I'd be a lot dumber without it.
aegisiondure @equalnotequals.com · yesterdaythis isn't very popular to say, but for me personally, it was good that i had unrestricted internet access when i was a minor. i was aware of what i was doing and enjoyed it. i don't look back on it and go "well that was a mistake", i look back on it and wish i could do it for the first time again
i loathe how much the “just exercise” and “just do a creative pursuit” people are right r.e. feeling bad. it feels like the “just turn it off and on again” of depression

My job as a guy who has officially Seen Some Shit in my professional career is now to show up and say "yes yes nice workaround but have we tried not having this problem" and then showing what not having the problem looks like. I can't imagine this is popular but by god is it needed

by way of the delta in my two skillsets my tech job is wayyy easier and comfier than my woodworking hobby I get to sit in a nice office and make entire worlds by clicking a lil mouse around? lately it does a ton of the tedious parts for me? heck yeah wake me up when robots can do all the sanding

I got into coding at age 8. Coding by hand does bring me a certain measure of joy. But there is so much to do, and there is little joy to be had in just writing the same boilerplate over and over again.
