When you’re chronically ill, learning to rest is critical It’s also hard Our society rewards productivity We’re taught that rest is weakness. That we should play through the pain Rest is a strength It can help you maintain your baseline If all you did today was rest, be proud of yourself

Healthcare is suicide prevention. Housing is suicide prevention. Childcare is suicide prevention. Universal basic income is suicide prevention. When we ensure people have their basic needs met, mental health improves.

Bear in mind when you ask an LLM to explain why it did what it did (or didn't), you're asking faces on toast to explain faces on toast. It's not explaining. It's plausibly completing. And you fell for it twice.

I’ve been saying that the Trump regime is regressing accessibility both in government and in companies. I’ve provided proof. Here’s more fucking proof. Accessibility is regressing. And once again YOU and everyone you know need this. This is a regression of human rights. Fuck

Meal delivery is accessibility. Grocery delivery is accessibility. Pre-peel/cut food is accessibility. Single use plastic straws are accessibility. Audiobooks are accessibility. Image, video, & audio descriptions are accessibility. Captions & transcripts are accessibility. Just some examples.

Outsourcing accessibility considerations to “AI” leads to the erasure of disabled people when designing and creating. That’s the goal. It’s digital euthanasia. I’m done mincing my words about this.

“Jiang and colleagues conclude, carefully but clearly, that their findings ‘redefine SARS-CoV-2 infection as a condition of long-lasting immune compromise’ and highlight lymphocyte dysregulation as a key immunological feature of Long Covid, particularly in people with cardiovascular disease.”

SARS-CoV-2 Leaves a Lasting Mark on the Immune System

A landmark new study shows COVID-19 isn’t ‘just a cold’: One infection left people with long-lasting immune damage, and those with heart disease lost up to 70% of key immune cells. Reinfections may wo...

I’m trying to remember to rest. To remember I did nothing to deserve this. But when things are falling apart it’s very hard to hold on to your baseline. So please remember you’re worth protecting. You’re worth self care. Your value is not determine by your income or your health. You’re loved.

I’m posting this as much for myself as for anyone else who needs to hear it. I’m facing losing my housing and I’m priced out of the market. I’m bedbound and lack the physical ability to move. I’m terrified. And it’s only happening because I’m disabled.

If all you did today was breathe and survive… that’s ok. Surviving a capitalist, eugenicist, ableist system is hard work. Resistance is exhausting. Never forget that rest is resistance. Survival is resistance. You’re not alone. There’s more of us than there are of them.
