RayForce (aka Layer Section aka Galactic Attack aka Gunlock) is one of my favorite games of all time, and also a cautionary tale about ceding decision making to AI.

An illustration depicting the RVA-818 X-LAY starfighter firing a volley of homing lasers at the enemy Con-Human fleet in near Earth orbit. A portrait of the pilot, F-04, takes up the upper right half of the illustration. She has a determined look on her face, with a targeting reticle superimposed over her right eye.

Based on a moment from the second stage of RayForce, titled 'The Gravity of Blue Side'. The plot of the game revolves around a last ditch attempt to fight back against Con-Human, a rogue planetary management AI that that took over the Earth and began replacing organic life with synthetic in a twisted attempt to fulfill its directive to 'preserve humanity'.

Originally illustrated as a contribution to the Taito fanbook 'Taitronica'.

saw this on monday nite. thoughts: 1) great subs; different colors for when different characters talked simultaneously, etc. 2) could use a new remaster. i wonder if the materials are good to go for it? 3) a solid re-imagining; IMO the best onscreen kiss in animation is at the end of this picture

“Creative breakthroughs happen when visionary storytellers are given access to transformative tools”-- Actually, creative breakthroughs happen when people don't have to drink brown water from data center waste. This is not cool or accessible, this is disingenuous & disappointing.

Three AI animated series are heading to Prime Video streaming via Amazon MGM/AWS-backed GenAI Creators' Fund: 'Cupcake & Friends;' 'Love, Diana Music Hunters;' and 'Punky Duck' from Jorge Gutierrez.

We employ over 80 artists to carefully work on every single part of the animation and creative process. You will never get the nuance, complexity and beauty of a Ghibli film without the human hand and their love. We will never use AI to replace art in our works.
