white americans should interrogate why this is the stuff that happens when we aren't around. this is not a nuanced or accidental thing, you don't need the life experience of being Black in america to know this is bad, so why did every white person involved think this was fine?

One thing I will say: you can give Stevie Wonder his flowers right now. We can cherish him right now.
Finding it harder and harder to find romance novels I enjoy because apparently y’all think it’s romantic to fall in love with someone who was kinda mean to you at first. I do not.
I had no idea. At the end of the night at Dollywood, before the fireworks, one of the last Dolly songs they play is *Whitney* singing I Will Always Love You … which struck me as so incredibly generous and lovely when we were there this summer.
They lit up the Empire State sparkling pink at 9:25 for Dolly
This makes sense to me not only because of its generosity, but because she was a great understander of the intricacy of the relationship between mind and body and self-image and external image, and of the primacy of *deciding for yourself* and being at peace above all else.

Dolly responded to it personally & paid for her top surgery. Sounds like an urban legend but it's real. I think we're going to more stories like this.
Due to Dolly Parton’s kids reading program for local libraries, my home county in Ohio saw children’s reading rates skyrocket from one of the lowest in the state to the top I cannot think of a better way to be remembered than to inspire whole generations to seek imagination, empathy, and curiosity
