While I'm happy to see this get picked up the reality is that a lot of this information became known in the immediate aftermath of her death as a result of the determination of a lot of people who were close to her, and the fact that it took so long to get here is incredibly frustrating.

I wrote this post due to constant discourse centering around whether taking hormones was "conformist" in nature or not, and the suggestion that uplifting trans people who didn't take hormones was "more radical". I realised that there were many trans voices who believed hormones weren't life-saving.

It's kind of funny how the "evil baeddel trans man haters" have actually made SIGNIFICANT contributions to the theorising around transmasc oppression in recent times, if people stopped treating them like shit for 5 seconds and fucking listened to what they say they might have realised this sooner!
This is the insidious part that I keep trying to get putative cis 'allies' to arrive at themselves. Through the idea that womanhood is 'meaningless' now, they elide that we still exist under patriarchy and its enforced standards of womanhood, denying further that we experience said womanization.
