Someone said a genz viewer described 90s movies like Fight Club and Clerks as a whole genre of "white men upset that they have jobs" ... and that tracks, for the era. 😆
I would notice no difference except I wouldn’t have to look at every goddamn image like a forensic expert to see if it's fake. I use AI for zero things. It's like asking what if crypto vanished, I wouldn't be effected at all.

Medicine. Medicine has grown by leaps and bounds. You cannot introduce vaccines that crater cancer rates, cure AIDS, and cure sickle cell, and then tell me things have only gotten worse. Also: Food. To a HUGE degree. I eat what I once considered rare treats every day, now.

I was not surprised by her first two complaints: general anger issues and having few outside hobbies. I WAS surprised at her mention of how many men apparently don’t wash their hair or butts.
When you see animation superfans/historians offhandedly referring to "Betty Boop's Black grandmother," folks, this is who they're talking about.

It's about the Holocaust, written by a child survivor. I was horrified that anyone could be so evil. I still think everyone should read it...but maybe not in 7th grade.
Everyone keeps trying to appease the nazis by being more like the nazis and all that happens is you get more nazis if only there were some sort of historical precedent for understanding this process
I swear to God, part of the problem of literacy is that we make kids read SO MANY books like this. Of course they’re going to associate reading with misery! We put them in a Skinner box and shock them when they read, what did people THINK would happen?

A more depressing collection would be tricky to assemble. Are we actively trying to convey to kids the idea that reading is dismal and arduous?

When your brain starts to associate a task or a place or activity with trauma, it just does what it's been designed to do and tries to *stop you from doing that.* We talk about burnout sometimes like it's a moral failure, but it's literally a deep survival mechanism.

yknow what would be cute? some kind of thing where we swap notebooks we only kind of used a little periodically, so you end up making all these little exquisite corpse books out of many people's "write it and forget about it" kind of notes without accruing stacks of notebooks you only used twice
