Good morning Bluesky ☀️ My grandad told me he saw the Titanic - from the outset he warned all the people that the ship would sink, but nobody listened to him. He knew he was right and didn't give up. He warned them again & again, until eventually they kicked him out of the cinema.

The Titanic sinking under a moonlit sky.

Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. Ask OpenAI if you are fishing correctly and it will tell you that you're the best fisherman in the world and you may have discovered a new way of fishing that will change the way people fish forever and also yes, dogs are fish

Very much this. But also, my response to Lucy would be, “Explain to me why not.” What is the direct impact on your life from having all the Mohammeds, Khans etc in this country. Please answer with reference to eg the England football team, our music industry, our restaurants, our universities.

The Mohammeds, Khans, Patels, Singhs, Adebayos and Babatundes didn’t go looking for Britain….Britain went looking for them, imposed its language and, in many places, its religion, while extracting wealth and resources from their countries. History has consequences.

If my assumption of what this programme will be about is correct, C4 are setting up a false dichotomy. You can’t separate ADHD (or any neurodivergence) into social vs biological. Many of the *negative socioemotional consequences* of having a given neurotype are socially constructed...

If I were new C4 CEO, Priya Dogra, I'd be looking to draw a line under the Ian Katz era of 'controversial' doc commissions and their shamelessly edgy takes that too often bordered on offensive. C4 Docs would do well to recalibrate and regain the higher ground to win back viewers' trust.

I think if there was any binary in covid/lockdown, it was between the haves and havenots. I was a city councillor at the time, and in my ward there were families stuck in overcrowded flats and rich people who could bugger off to their second home in the country. People had very different wars.

After 1st wave, we didn't run summer catch up programmes or improve ventilation in schools - we didn't even try until 2021, months after the last school closures. We didn't recommend masks (let alone good masks) in classrooms until after the last school closures. 5/12

Personally I think there are "legitimate questions" about COVID. Like why Michael Gove and Matt Hancock got away with giving away contracts to their mates. And why the fuck Michelle Mone and Doug Barrowman haven't been prosecuted.

Amnesty Int is about to learn - Appeasing the beast doesn't do anything but make it want more bites out of you. Giving in doesn't EVER work. It just makes you easier to digest. Fight and you can win. Roll over and you will be made an example of. Every. Time.

One of the most important issues of our time is that the future of humanity is presently being authored by people who have nothing but total contempt for humanity and seek the erasure of everything that gives being a human meaning. It’s not just annoying. It doesn’t just suck. It’s existential.

Sam Altman: cool use case of chatgpt work i heard last night:

connect your family calendars and explain your kids' interests.

every morning for the drive to school, have it make a podcast that talks about one kid's soccer game that afternoon, one kid's upcoming birthday, some news, etc.
