For some weird reason, pharmacies are pushing flu shots right now. The majority of healthy adults should wait until September or October to get a flu shot. Immunity wanes within a few months, and you still want to be sure you are protected in January and February during peak flu season! ⬇️

One of the more frustrating legacies of 2020 is the idea that reporting risk factors for mortality is somehow always a slight against disabled and chronically ill people, as opposed to an essential piece of information for people in that category to assess their risk before *or after* they get sick

The actual harsh truth about MAHA is that it is an anti-vaxx, anti-science, pro-diarrhea conspiracy movement. It cloaks its arguments in abstractions about "big pharma" and "free speech" to generate *the exact op-ed The Atlantic keeps publishing*. Movements like this need to be fought, not placated.
MAHA has basically lead to a restoration of endemic measles. A number of preventable foodborne outbreaks are a consequence of its focus on deregulation. The movement is by definition incapable of good-faith engagement with science. I don’t think it’s doing a whole lot for public health.

People deserve to be remembered for who they were. Lindsey Graham tried on many different skins and ultimately settled on the very worst version of himself. There were, at one point, a few shreds of something you could call principles--not many, but they existed. There were none at the end.
The issue isn’t whether McConnell is dead but that there is no other job where you can disappear for a month with absolutely no documentation to your employer and still have a job. I need a sick note after three days or I’m considered AWOL. Why is this acceptable practice for elected officials?
