Imo there are lots of talented people in the FGC who could be great commentators or who could be even better at it than they already are, but very few of them approach anything like their potential ceilings. Even some of our best commentators, as good as they already are, could still improve imo

Imo only 2-3 of our entire crop of top commentators were really born for it, and you can prob name them right away. Most of the rest of us got into it by essentially historical accident, a combination of def having real skillsets but also being at the right place/right time + other people bowing out

Controversial opinion but I do think you should actually play the video game if you're participating in discussions for the video game

one of the basic problems of prediction markets that our brilliant economists clearly have not thought through is that the insider trading poisons basically everything in public life. everything is potentially untrustworthy, a set-up. the fix is always in.

This might come off as biased, but Climax of Night started out with less than 200 people and there were 1,000+ of us in the building when it wrapped up last year. Several of us were bawling our eyes out. There is so much that can still be done without EVO that will matter to a whole lot of people.
