We need to correct this BS by Stephen A. Smith because it keeps coming up. Lia Thomas was ranked Men's 63rd EISL and 20th at UPenn the year she was on HRT but still required to compete on the Men's Team. Pre-HRT she was ranked Men's 4th EISL and 2nd at UPenn. She was NEVER mediocre.

I hate sounding like a conspiracy person but there’s a reason that this Sophie Cunningham thing is on like day 7 of discourse and how there’s absolutely very little trans staff writers driving the news coverage of it.

I need people to understand that for the last half decade that there’s been an ecosystem of trans folks in sports media who have worked unpaid to serve as experts for context, sources and educators on what it’s like for trans athletes, in hopes of potential bylines and contacts. That’s dried up.

i think a lot of well-meaning people fall into a rhetorical trap where they take the bait and argue about male vs. female performance in sports rather than arguing for the value and dignity of women’s athletics generally. don’t let yourself be dragged into a bad faith framing.

the best HS teams in the country have multiple guys who will be in the NBA in a couple of years. they aren't normal high schools, they're basketball factories. but this literally doesn't matter. the value of women's sports isn't contingent on their performance vis a vis men.

Stop saying "log into a portal." Sounds way too cool for what's happening.

100% of every public figure is due to someone realizing their time in the spotlight is almost up and they’re desperate for that to continue, and they realize the conservative ecosystem will turn you into a media figure if you promise to endanger as many trans people as possible
