just a bag of moons... she/her/that dyke/maaaaaaammaaaaaaa/maestra extended lesbian cinematic universe Wearing more dinosaur clothing and making more eye contact than Minnesotans can handle. 📍I live inside my own heart, Matt Damon

Guess I’ll be part of the Kaohly Her whisper campaign but a St. Paul knower confides maybe the police aren’t making shit up, they’re just the only department with the political cover to go public. Ask your St. Paul government friends if Her’s treatment of colleagues and underlings goes beyond SPPD.

One of the things that's going to happen is that people will start to see the horrible tradeoff we made in the post-civil rights era. We sold out cities, transportation, education, environment, taxation, .... everything, in the name of "black and white kids don't have to be in the same classroom."

I only try to remember how every shift at GFS felt like the deepest heartbreak until we learned to remember we're in it for the long haul & in it for good, no matter what. That took 4-5 years, but I did gain the perspective through the discipline. My heart is with them.

Fuck it We need a fence. We got quoted $1000 for something secure and solid to keep folks out of our yard at 3am. We are a household of mostly disabled trans organizers. We need help. My venmo is @ reedeliot Please help us out. It's getting fuckin wild.

Last night yet another person walked through the busted down gate to scream at our neighbor's house. He broke his fucking door down and threatened to kill him. It's fucking scary this shit keeps happening in the middle of the night.

Being dead is not some kind of state line where, if you can just cross the border, all your trespasses evaporate. The flowers still wither where you poured salt. The living continue to suffer the consequences of your actions. People are entitled to say, he made the garden worse, and now he is gone.

a thing that is sort of weird to me (in a "jesus, my brain is bad" kind of way) is that even though, for very obvious reasons, having had blood cancer means they super duper very do not want your blood ever, i still manage to feel guilty about not donating blood.

Who is going to find time in their week this week to donate blood? The American Red Cross declared only its second ever national blood crisis in 145 years. There’s only a day’s worth of O+!

chopping it up with the transphobes before the Fire-Fever game on Friday really hammered this home: they want to endlessly "debate" abstract gender concepts because they have absolutely no way to implement any kind of sports-gender policy that doesn't require a whole lot of child genital inspection

An initiative on the ballot in Washington state in November would require all athletes seeking to play girl's sports from kindergarten to high school to undergo "genetic screening, a testosterone-levels test, or an examination of their reproductive anatomy" before they can play

The Campaign to Force Genital Exams on Girl Athletes Soon Washington State could require sex-verification tests for those playing sports in schools.

I think a lot of relitigation of COVID is people who have spent a lot of their resources (time and money) trying to insulate themselves from the vagaries of luck confronting the fact that big, random things happen and that life can still have unforeseen challenges. Climate change seems similar.

Hmm. It's a stumper. Let's see, which countries are the ones where healthcare (a huge factor as you age) is tied to employment in a society with an unstable employment market with layoff threats always looming and where people over 50 are not so subtly pushed out the door? Is it Sweden? No?

In some countries, depression, loneliness, and memory issues actually improve in middle age. Almost everywhere else, they at least stay steady. And in only ONE country, they get WORSE . I'll give you three guesses and you have to forfeit the first two. maximumfun.org/episodes/dep...

And (this is the last one I promise) whoever said we’re all fucked up mentally from the Covid trauma is dead on. We haven’t reckoned with it and never will, our grandkids will whisper about us the same way we whispered about our Depression-era grandparents who scooped mold off the jelly instead of

my neighborhood 7-11 closed a couple years ago and tried to reopen but couldn’t get the permit approved because there’s a preschool next door and 7-11s sell alcohol (the previous permit was grandfathered in). i saw a fence going up around the lot recently and looked up what was moving in: a gun shop
