This kind of take always baffles me. Nolan's film is the biggest movie around, racking in money, and getting glowing reviews (including from academics). If the biggest most popular works can't get critical debate, then what can? Frankly Nolan is probably delighted. It helps the film to have debate

You can/should read Emily Wilson's latest take on the Odyssey, but I'm logging on to convey my hairdresser's reaction. She was AGHAST that Nolan, with his million $ budget, gave Matt Damon ONLY 6 hair extensions. As a result, his hair did not blow around properly, & that ruined the film for her.

I'm just gonna say: it somewhat baffles me that people who are understandably skeptical of opaque LLMs as legitimate sources of information will suddenly go full on "the computer KNOWS" when they are using opaque tools to "detect" AI. The computer does not know.

citation chaining (n.) Library Science. academic equivalent of stalking someone’s friends on social media to understand who they really are. You start with one decent source, raid its bibliography for other sources (backward chaining), then check who’s cited it since publication (forward chaining).
