I like beer and making snarky comments about religion and conservatives 📍 Kansas City, MO He/Him
why isn’t the future the way we thought it would be
New episode of Ted Lasso is almost like a convention and visitors bureau ad for KC. Not complaining, but I could see how some would
This is team player shit, beat the bad guys shit. I love it. No fucking around with it, just let's go.
I encourage all of us to have the grace and focus shown in this going up within minutes of the race being called.
Missouri elections be like: Hitler (R) 79% - Christ (D) 21% And then the ballot initiative: Amend the Missouri constitution to require the state to own the means of production and work towards full communism? Yes 92% - No 8%
Rare opportunity to say with total sincerity: great work Kansas and Missouri.
Voted. But had to pass Wolfpack BBQ when walking to my polling place so had to eat first
This will get a fraction of the attention that Zohran Mamdani got for calling Netanyahu a war criminal.
Depicting Jewish people with horns is a centuries-old, dehumanizing, antisemitic trope. Democratic Gov nominee Phil Weiser is outspoken about his mother’s birth in a Nazi concentration camp, his family members killed in the Holocaust, and the threat posed by antisemitism today.
Watched a video of a Russian drone flying around a Ukrainian street vendor, chasing him while he tried to get away, then blowing up. The future is here and it's terrifying
🎥The Voting Rights Act built Kansas City’s Black political power. SCOTUS gutted the law that made it possible — and the fallout is already reshaping this year’s midterms. “Truth vs. Troost: Kansas City, gerrymandering and the fight for representation” premieres August 6, only for subscribers.
i’m never gonna be able to fire a cruise missile yet the question of using my tax dollars for them has never been up for debate
Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.
Meanwhile drivers "operate within the traffic laws". 🤔
You can’t hear a bicycle coming at you and at 25 mph, there is enough force there to kill you. Both vehicles and bikes are hazardous to pedestrians. I support bikes but they need to operate within traffic laws as everyone else has to.
I am not a fan of who the DSA nominated for my district, is there a voter guide for these primaries tomorrow? Sorry, I'm usually on top of this stuff but just existing is pain right now
I wish every article like this also mentioned believing in magic underwear
i bring a sort of ‘i fear neither pain nor death’ energy to the pedestrian/driver interaction that drivers don’t really like
I chuckled that he referred to the Plaza as a mall. He's not wrong, but it's always just "the Plaza" around here www.instagram.com/reel/DbjRFKO...

#OTD 2 August 1834 Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi was born. He designed the Statue of Liberty which France gave as a gift to the United States of America. France's gift for America's centennial celebration was meant to symbolize the hope of America as a land of liberty and justice.
Every time there's a headline like this, it's suburban store owners who themselves drive to work and can't imagine anyone getting there any other way.
God this is infuriating. The sense of entitlement among US drivers is completely out of control.
Cincinnati has developed a Climate Migration Readiness Plan to absorb as many as 525,000 newcomers by 2050. It calls for building much denser housing, expanding public transit and decreasing the city’s reliance on fossil fuels.

These guys won’t stand up for the daughter of a Republican US Senator and they’ll never stand up for your daughter. But they will send some goon to inspect her crotch.
Max Miller is denying all the allegations against him and you can tell he's sincere because of the popped collar.
@scribblymoth.bsky.social this is the burger at Small Bar, one of the places I recommended to you for your trip!
Got my fifty second straight birthday burger one day late this year. Yes, my mom gave me a burger party when I was one, stop asking questions. This is the classic double from Small Bar in Chicago.
Another datapoint for the fascist radicalisation of institutional pillars of much of the American Right
The title of that movie should not be Wicker, it should be Bone-occhio and you know I'm right
We're letting old rich men destroy the paradise we live in. We aren't angry enough
Bordeaux, France, has now recorded more days above 40°C in 2026 alone than during the entire 105-year period from 1920 (when observations began) to 2025. This is deeply shocking.
