"The Emperor is a fan of Flock, and we must continue utilizing Flock technologies so that we can follow and surveil the rebel scum as they move from playground to playground... They are following children in parks and gymnasiums, and we need this. I need this so I can stalk my ex-girlfriend."

She/her. Swiss nerd, fluent in French & English. I care about politics and fandom to an almost equal extent, which is to say, a lot I sometimes quote-post art w/ an added description. Please see this as an encouragement to add alt text to your images! <3
When acquiring editors say things like: “Having an entire friend group of disabled and queer people is not realistic.” My attitude is: “Let me invite you to my actual life. My buds are so queer and disabled, the fabulousness might make you faint. Better bring your smelling salts.”
In the meantime, you can access the censored Amnesty reports on gender critical groups here. Make sure they cannot erase these documents from the internet. Like a snowball. dn711306.ca.archive.org/0/items/amne... A growing threat. archive.org/download/rep...

I've never seen such an effort to censor a document as I have the Amnesty International report on gender critical groups because of JK Rowling. They removed the report from the Wayback Machine and now I got a DMCA strike on my Google Drive for having it. It was deleted and removed from my account.
Demands for a "perfect victim" only silences victims of sexual abuse instead of creating a safe space for us to find support. What the fictional character does won't hurt anyone, but that puritanical mindset of yours will, and does.
It is never ever ever ever going to work out better for you if you talk to police before speaking with a lawyer.
What’s a thing from your area of expertise (or special interest) that you think it would behoove everyone else to know?
I am actually fine with teaching the Bible as literature, or as an adjunct to history, not religion, but we should not limit ourselves to the Bible as the only religious literature/history taught
This is correct. You can't understand American literature and history without some understanding of the Bible and of American religious history. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...
Hey folks, About that AI opt-out feature Twitch was talking about? It's not just the streamers that have to turn that off. EVERYONE has to turn it off, because anything on your account, including the clips you make, will be fed to that infernal, ignominious devil machine if you don't. /1
BREAKING: It made the final cut. Congratulations, Michigan, you might have the best voting sticker of 2026.
I am obsessed with this finalist in this year's Michigan “I voted” sticker design contest

If someone is unsafe, it’s on them to show improvement. You can choose to understand and forgive and still deny them access to your one wild and precious life, to paraphrase Mary Oliver. It’s not about punishing others. It’s about freeing yourself from harm. And you get to decide what works.
My point is this: YOU are the one who gets to decide how much abuse is ENOUGH abuse. You do not have to show physical scars or police reports. Emotional abuse is BAD. (Ask me how I know.) Spiritual and religious abuse? Also BAD. (Ditto.) Financial abuse? BAD.
One thing I’ve noticed about the estranged child discourse is that whenever an outsider comments on it, they’ll say something like, “Well, it’s different if you’ve ACTUALLY been ABUSED.” In their minds, there’s some threshold, never specifically defined, that makes it okay to walk away.
seeing real artists and writers constantly hit with accusations of AI cuz the damn thing was trained on real artists and writers, knowing the lil jobs that used to make ends meet are now outsourced to a shittier version of you that doesn't have bills, doesn't have a life some days I just get so MAD
Every time someone says "but how will we afford it?" I want to ask them how we are affording it now, and in many cases, the answer is that we aren't.
“A single-payer universal health care system could cover every American, save more than 100,000 lives a year, and still cost $1 trillion less than the system it would replace, according to a new preprint study led by researchers at the Yale School of Public Health.” ysph.yale.edu/news-article...
There are a million reasons I would oppose age verification laws on principle even if the technology existed to do it 100% accurately, privately, securely, and without deanonymization. The fact those things are literally impossible to achieve is just an extra reason to despise them.
Yeah, as somebody who is sensitive to this particular Discourse for personal reasons, it's telling how quickly the perspective has shifted from adults making this decision about their parents to parents insisting they have been unjustly punished for one teeny widdle mistake.
no one called it 'cutting off family' when these same parents threw their gay kids out of the house. wild how that works.
I recognised little alex horne's voice immediately and it was a tasty cherry on top of the delicious cake that was Earwigs
🚨 A new episode of Game Changer Making of BTS is out now — showing a deep dive into how we created the world of "Earwigs"!
no one called it 'cutting off family' when these same parents threw their gay kids out of the house. wild how that works.
lol come the fuck on
The fact that nearly every online debate or controversy results in some kind of brigading—people can’t just have opinions; they have to review-bomb and harass and call for books to be pulled from shelves—makes it impossible to have normal conversations on social media. Everything is a referendum.
Absolutely THIS. People think a dollar or two isn't "real"support, or isn't enough and like no no, IT IS ACTUALLY SO MUCH bc it adds up! It feels like just the $1 on your end, but on our end it ends up being $10 or $100 or even $1000s A dollar goes farther than you think
people get intimidated by the social belief of "supporting the arts" as like donating $5,000,000 for a new wing at a museum or hosting some gala it's not. 10% of our audience throwing us $1.00 a month would literally be *life-changing* money most artists are in the same boat.
Hello all! Our fine friend here thinks you will find this exchange amusing, and with their permission I’m providing it to you for your enjoyment. You may need to scroll up a little for context but it’s all good.
[redacted person who does not know whose mentions they wandered into]: In my city, the cyclists are so entitled, they act like they own the roads. Me: LET THE BIKES OWN THE ROADS. THE BIKES ARE FAR LESS DANGEROUS AND POLLUTING BY ABSOLUTELY EVERY MEASURE. MAKE THE CARS PAY TOLLS TO THE CYCLISTS.
Social media has made people forget that many of us are complete strangers. A lot of us are nosy and desperately want to know the gossip, but also we must learn when to control that urge.
so now i don't talk about it. i don't explain what i write. i dont explain why i dont give explicit content warnings. i offer what i can to keep my readers safe, but also mySELF. i think people forget that i am a STRANGER, and they are not owed my life an my history.
This is the coverage of Arday **just in the Telegraph** in the UK. This is only the first four pages of results, just in one outlet.
Thread. Seriously, as readers and as people, you do not ever have the authority to discern whether someone is behaving in a way that is a "real" response to trauma. The ways that people behave in response make sense for THEM. They are internally determined, individual, and highly complex.
I'm not going to tag Ursula in this (though she's welcome to reply) because my thread isn't going to be about the Astarion book or if BG3 is a "horny" game or any of that nonsense. Instead, this is about the online demands for the perfect rape victim in fiction. (thread)
A Professor can be hounded to death by the media for alleged plagiarism but tech companies can plagiarise on a worldwide scale and they’re left alone, celebrated for their “genius”…
While I understood where she came from, it immediately marked her, to me, as someone unsafe when I needed that kind of help. I think she would've been devastated to realize that. The most beneficial reframing I got a long time ago was to understand both the act and ideation are *morally neutral*.
I wrote this thread because the Arday news is impossible to escape and suicide coverage is one of the most closely studied and observed genuine triggers there is. The thread has a TW, the app does not. I will be going offline for the rest of the day. Take care!
TW: Suicide If you tell people you have SI, many are likely to suggest you call 988 or text the suicide lifeline. These are good resources *if you need to be kept physically safe;* they are not as helpful if your ideations are passive. Allow me to share some things that have helped me. /1
