it is a certain kind of funny that the same kind of people who go "what did they expect? they told you what they were gonna do!" to republican voters getting impacted negatively by republican policy are the same kind of people who'll go "that's just to play for the rubes" when dems say bullshit

People get confused about the trans sports thing because at a glance it seems like a small issue that impacts a very small number of people and thus makes sense as a "reasonable" concession. But it isn't, because conceding that is accepting that a kid's trans identity is on some level fraudulent

assuming we don't have an auto-golpe or whatever in the next 2-4 years etc etc, the thing about this Missouri GOP fuck up is that it has, in a matter of ~72 hours, managed to spiral into such a fuck up that it may have set the stage for a series of progressive ballot initiatives for the next X years

Another point: if i recall correctly, within the last 2-3 years, a trans woman was elected to some public seat and said she doesnt care about the bathroom issue. You know, the thing we are being murdered over. She immediately gave it up and corrupted her principles on like, day one.

Gay marriage was a new right that we lgbtq people were fighting for back then. Trans healthcare, sports, gender marker changes, etc have been around for years, decades in some instances. This is like a dem coming out NOW and opposing gay marriage in 2026.
