Incidentally the use of “transition” as a transitive verb is an insidious little bit of propaganda: As though it’s something adults do *to* students, rather than something the students themselves do, with adults choosing whether to respect or disrespect that choice.

Over here in Europe we have always tracked kids towards trade school or university with a test at age 12! Still do. It sucks. It’s a really dumb idea! America should definitely do this if it wants to kill growth and waste human potential, oh and also worsen racial discrimination
