Here’s the latest stop motion animation from my Tiny Angry Witch team. (I’m the writer, I can’t take credit for the animating!) It’s one of our longest, and it nearly drove us all mad, but we’re really proud of getting it made! 1 x Tiny Angry Witch 1 x broom No AI

GOOD NEWS! Researchers at Stanford University have developed a UNIVERSAL vaccine known as GLA-3M-052-LS+OVA, that protects against a wide range of respiratory viruses, bacteria AND even allergens. The vaccine is delivered intranasally AND provides broad protection in the lungs for several MONTHS.

Goodbye to seasonal viruses as we know them: the first universal vaccine against respiratory infections and allergies is now closer than ever

Another good cockchafer fact: as a result of studies by 1800s entomologists, the cockchafer was one of the first animals to be discovered to have a strong preference towards homosexuality. A lot of Victorians found this very upsetting and refused to believe it.

My four favourite facts about the cockchafer beetle: 1. It's called a cockchafer beetle. 2. It’s also sometimes known as a “billywitch”. 3. It’s unusually loud and clumsy by beetle standards and bangs into lots of things when it flies into your house by mistake. 4. It looks like this, close up.

A cockchafer beetle, demonstrating its talent for multitasking by showing us its pad while also listening with great sympathy to our problems.

Possibly historic sighting of a pod of cuvier's beaked whales in Monterey Bay today, not only is it rare to find these but finding that many in this region may never have happened before. These whales dive longer and deeper than sperm whales, up to nearly 10,000 ft deep for over 3 hours!! 🦑

A cuvier's beaked whale posted to Instagram, hard to see what it is in the picture if you don't know what they are monterey_bay_whale_watch We had an incredibly rare
sighting of 15 Goose-beaked (Cuvier's) whales on our
1:30PM trip yesterday! Typically any beaked whale
sightings we get for the year do occur in the spring, but
this sighting was something special. Typically when
encountering Goose-beaked whales, it is a very brief
encounter with only a couple individuals, and they are
usually quite distant. Yesterday we got extremely lucky
to encounter 15 of these mvsterious whales for almost
5 minutes at the surface! It is likelv one of the largest
groups of this species ever seen in Monterey Bay, and
there was a mix of female subadults and even a few
calves! We are also in contact with beaked whale
experts about one individual in particular that might
even be a different species of beaked whale. You trulv

Happy polio vaccine announcement anniversary. "There is no patent. Could you patent the sun?" remains one of the hardest remarks of all time. Kind of quote every child should be taught

New friend said she always mixes up which thread is warp (vertical) and which is weft (horizontal), so I told her to just remember that warp goes up and down and weft goes weft to wight and if anybody else has made that joke before please don't tell me because I was SO pleased with myself 😤

Diagram of fibers being woven, with the warp (vertical fibers) and weft (horizontal fibers) annotated.

I haven’t posted much here. The horrors persist etc etc. but please enjoy this timeline rest stop with Dogtor Mop. She wants you to take your meds, hydrate and eat a delicious snack today, okay?
