@daveheumann.bsky.social I’m in hospital recovering from cancer and listening to nothing but Arbouretum and it’s like magic, thank you so much.

Opposition parties should put leaflets through every door in Clacton spelling out what the council will now not be able to afford to do because their MP needlessly triggered a by-election.
I believe in my day we called this “goal hanging”
For 90% of the game, Haaland just lurks around. He hardly even pays attention to the ball. But then - out of a sudden - at the exact right moment, he awakens, scores a historic goal, and immediately goes back to lurking around. He cannot be replicated.
Donald Trump has no shame, but Folarin Balogun is a class act. He spoke to Belgian head coach, Rudi Garcia, after the match. Garcia said of Balogun "He came to talk to me. I really liked that. It is not his fault. He is not the one to blame. That's what I told him." H/T @resistrebelrevolt.net
No one has any right to expect restraint, leadership and eloquence from young men who just happen to be extremely good at football but it's striking how often some of them deliver it.
FIFA headquarters are in Switzerland the Swiss FA have come out against FIFA's decision.
The Swiss FA now.
Mbappe fires back at the racist Paraguayan senator who said he grew up with chimpanzees
However, the African and Asian confederations have already unanimously voted to give Infantino their delegate votes for his 2027 re-election. He only needs another 9 from the rest of the world. UEFA's only weapon is that they generate 75%+ of world revenue.
But their own rules state this decision wasn’t appealable.
Oh, dear. Confirmed: political pressure.
Being told you’re corrupt by UEFA and Sepp Blatter is like being told you have a few mad ideas by Liz Truss.
Kind of want to stay up to 1am to watch Belgium dick the US.
Well done Bosnia. bsky.app/profile/mich...
hell yeah baby keep it coming (this is easily one of FIFA's worst rules in practice, functioning to prevent FIFA-unfriendly governments from leveraging their power against FIFA while allowing friendly governments to do whatever they want.) but whatever, let's go, all gas no brakes
I entirely agree. There are very good reasons why you make rules in advance and then follow them, rather than making up a process on the fly. Nobody is better off because of this, even Balogun, who will be booed on every non-US ground he ever plays on.
I don’t imagine for a minute anyone actually asked Balogun if he wanted the decision appealed?
