Tuchel is right about England's DNA. If anything things are worse in that respect than five years ago, due to English football's huge shift towards intensity & set-pieces. Controlling a PL game has become impossible, so don't expect control from England. ⬇️ www.nytimes.com/athletic/746...

Thomas Tuchel was right – England’s DNA doesn’t allow them to control matches

Head coach's comments may have provoked a spiky reaction, but recent Premier League trends suggest he was correct

Private Eye tells me that How Green Was My Valley is one of Andy Burnham’s favourite books. Oh dear. I write a PhD on 1930s Welsh mining novels, including a whole chapter on Llewellyn’s work. I even read the terrible sequels. It really, really isn’t a story of working-class solidarity etc.

The gaslighting in the UK is absurd. My kiddo has been fully included for years. This segregation has a start date, September 1st. It is a 180 of school policy, that they are being forced to follow by Government policy. Yet not one newspaper is mentioning this HUGE change to trans kids' lives.

I mean, I’m not brain smart but it seems to me you stop fascists from rising to power by doing bold things that will make life materially better for everyone so they don’t blame being poor on poorer people.

In March, I went to watch France and Brazil play a pre-World Cup game—half the game from an on-field VIP club, half from the cheap seats. Today I’ve got an essay out about what live sports are for, which seems like something a lot of us are thinking about right now. www.bloomberg.com/news/feature...

I Tested the Best and Worst Seats at a World Cup Stadium

As World Cup ticket prices top $10,000, a trip from the VIP area to the nosebleeds reveals what spectators are really paying for.

Today Microsoft moved all its GitHub copilot subscribers to token-based billing. If you want to see what happens when people have to pay the actual costs of AI, the day is finally here. It's obvious that every customer sees the deep, meaningful value and isn't angry at all.

Just one prompt and I got 50% of my whole month credits using Claude Sonnet 4.6.

This is hilarious. For context I used the Copilot Orchestrator that has Condutor, Planning, Implementator and Code review agents. But with the new "usage based pricing", seems like this is not an ideal setup anymore?
Anyone has the same experience here? I am on Copilot Prot. This is so expensive.r/GithubCopilot • 6h ago

Love the new Copilot token system

Last month I used ~60% of my quota in an entire month.
This month I've already used 25% on day one.
What an amazing improvement.r/GithubCopilot • 14h ago

First day of the new pricing model, I tried one prompt to just refine one of my existing change proposal, basically a conductor with few sub agents to update the existing change spec, architecture, test plan, prototype, tech spec and implementation plan.
About 20-30 mins task, ends up burning 16% of my monthly credits in one shot.
Bye.

It's too expensive for me. In just one day, I used 4,000/20,000 credits, which means I would end up paying $600 a month.

I genuinely feel sick. A company reached out to me on IG, linking me to an AI version of myself. You can even ask "me" questions. They are also advertising it using an AI photo of me. They told me if I like it, they will give me free access... to my own fucking content that they stole. /1

A screenshot of the advertisement with an AI image of Lindsey and a brain, with text that says: YOUR BODY HAS A HISTORY. ASK ABOUT IT."

Delaney detainees are fed worm-infested food, forced into slave labor in exchange for showers, being denied cancer and HIV meds. A woman miscarried inside and was denied medical care. They are being denied water. People are being forced to sit in their own menstrual blood with no sanitary supplies.

I save photographs depicting traumatic experiences in my life because I think it’s important to remember the bad times, as well as the good. This one is from the occasion when some sheep I’d put my trust in threw me off a cliff for kicks then cut the rope as I tearfully begged for their assistance.

Me - suffering from a broken arm - holding onto a rope forlornly with my one good hand while some sheep, on the cliff above, laugh at my predicament and shout insults such as "Penis legs!", "Snowflake!" and "Pathetic cliff twat!" at me.

I think my inherent disgust towards LLM AI is because it divorces the user from the weight of creation. What brilliance illuminated your life? What insights left you breathless? What strange paths did you wander? What work did you put in towards understanding what it means to be human?

If you've never listened to The Bugle before this would be a fantastic place to start. Not only are @zaltzcricket.bsky.social, @alicefraser.bsky.social and @natogreen.bsky.social as funny and intelligent as ever, but hearing Nato talk about finding hope in the world was wonderful and very moving.

This weeks episode of @thebugle.bsky.social podcast was needed for my mental health. Spending time with the brilliant and hilarious @alicefraser.bsky.social and Zaltz is a salve. Listen: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...

Massacre upon massacre in Beirut in the last hour. AUBMC announced a “code disaster.” Over 100 airstrikes in 10 minutes across the country. One hit right behind my house. Sirens ambulances & the smell of sulphur. The city is in total chaos the people in complete panic

How does the new Senedd election voting system work? I tried to do 2 impossible things: 1. Explain it simply. 2. Explain it in one take. This election really matters so please share to help as many people as possible exercise their right to have a say over their futures.

A few hours ago, my timeline happened to go from some extraordinary photographs from the Artemis II crew 250,000 miles away exemplifying expertise, courage, and the fragility of our planet, to one of a screenshot of Trump threatening to wipe a "whole civilization" from the face of the Earth.

A screenshot of my timeline earlier today showing the contrast between two posts - one a photograph of a solar eclipse taken by the Artemis II crew from the dark side of the moon and then another - a screenshot of US President Donald Trump threatening to destroy "a whole civilization" in Iran.
