turns out that coming up with original ideas that people actually want and then implementing them well is still very hard no matter how much AI you have on your side

Damn that's lowkey funny as fuck, I mean it feels mean to say and it is mean but it's also true like, you're demanding free labour of someone (fine, if I get to use AI, it's trivial and it might make a good springboard into teaching you), and then also demanding moral purity about it.
So some aquaintences asked for its help maintaining a website they use for stuff and it had to slowly explain to them that yes AI would be used, no it would not do that by hand and good luck finding someone who would lol.

Ultraviolet is peak. It's not good. But it's fucking great. I loved this movie. In some ways even more than Equilibrium tbh (and that's absolutely among my fav action movies). Extremely fun.
Kurt Wimmer really just loves things shaped like symbols. Structures, rooms, doors, muzzle flash...
I love EmbeddingGemma 2 and would die for EmbeddingGemma 2. I don't need sophisticated organizational systems to keep all the established lore in my webnovel straight anymore, I just need EmbeddingGemma and a robot to query the embeddings!!
Check out this practical developer guide for EmbeddingGemma 2 covering multimodal retrieval across text, code, images, audio, and video, modular encoders (270M to 740M), and Matryoshka truncation (768d down to 128d): https://developers.googleblog.com/embeddinggemma-2-the-developer-guide/
Some of you prob think "I'm skipping the predictable discourse. But—since my sacrifice is silent—no one will ever see or appreciate it." This is why the internet needs to create a Divine Being who can see every act of self-restraint and give it, if not karma points, at least a quiet nod.
I want to read the fake comics from the opening credits of Ultraviolet that it pretends to be adapted from.

Tired: people are rational selfish profit maximizers Wired: people are rational selfish pleasure maximizers Inspired: value is subjective so you can’t determine if someone else is acting rationally without observing their internal belief state
I've been toying around a lot with the idea of libidinal rationality, which is when people act not according to strict rationality of maximising profit or returns or sustainability, but toward what provides them with libidinal satisfaction, which trumps everything else

one of the wildest stories we don't know the slightest thing about is the story of Phoenician mariners from Beirut seeking out, and eventually finding, the source of their tin in Cornwall
