Look for others who are struggling: think, how can you help them? Be aware of your privileges, unlearn your biases, and use your voice to uplift the most marginalised. Love, uplift and protect trans people of global majority, disabled trans people, and everyone with intersecting identities. Be there for trans kids. Show them that they will live a happy life as themselves, and help them through a hostile school system. You are not powerless and your voice will always matter. Speak out for our rights, and for the rights of all other oppressed communities and peoples. We are not the first to go through this darkness, and we will not be the last. Look to our history and dream of potential futures. In every way you can and that is safe for you to do so, live your life and resist this ‘guidance’. We will survive and thrive through this, as long as we are there for each other. This is not the end of our story. Our bodies are change incarnate, and we have always carved beauty out of oppression. He was on the Quiet Riot podcast a few months ago and started veering into transphobic territory and the hosts immediately pushed back and he retreated instantly. It was fascinating to hear it just be clearly called out and make that stop rather than escalate.

It’s wild that the Women’s and Equalities C’tee pressed the head of the EHRC on exactly tjis and tbe answer was, “that’s going to be a very small minority of cases”. Yes! They’re all a small minority of cases! That’s the point of the guidance!

Or, for that matter, what happens when a trans person doesn't comply. Because this is statutory guidance. It's not a new criminal code. You can't call the cops on someone for using what you think might be the wrong toilet.

Even though I imagine that close to 100% of interactions stemming from this guidance will go that way. There will, undoubtedly, be some trans people who just want to avoid a scene, but most of the people confronted are going to be cis, and no one knows what happens then.

It's a baked-in assumption that the person being confronted *will* be trans, and that they will immediately comply, even though there is no means of enforcement whatsoever. What if the person is cis? What if they're trans and just lie? This situation genuinely appears to be beyond their imagination.

There a million things wrong with the EHRC guidance, as you all know, but for me the weirdest thing about it all is that its authors don't even seem to be aware of the possibility that someone asked to leave a "single sex" facility might refuse.

Like, I need one of these ghouls to explain to me what actually *happens* when a cis person is being confronted. How are they meant to demonstrate their "biological sex" to the satisfaction of the person yelling at them?
