When A-Level students across the country finally get to find out
What Britain's newspaper columnists think about their results.
[show the interior of the school hall, with long tables, but instead of results papers on them, loads of middle-aged newspaper columnists are all laid out]
[Close up on the COLUMNISTS lying on the table, talking up to a gaggle of excited students desperate to find out what they say]
PETER HITCHENS:

[Cut to outside the hall, the REPORTER is talking to a student]
REPORTER:
And did you get the middle-aged opinions you wanted?
STUDENT:

I got one ‘There's Too Much Humanities’,
and two Oxford graduates telling me they went to Oxford.
REPORTER [now doing a voiceover, as we see the students in the school hall next to the columnists on tables, and the students are preparing to jump in the air for a photographer]:

Surely the right are always complaining about the left wanting to throw money at problems rather than examine structural reasons why, for example, certain ethnic groups earn less than others? Remove the “woke” bit and you end up with a caricature of leftism. Is it possible he’s being disingenuous?

People who want redistribution also want “woke” policies. One could know that if one engaged with the research. But then one couldn’t write the same article every year.

I set up a Threads account for work but got zero engagement so I gave up on it. It keeps appearing on my Facebook feed and I occasionally click on the odd post, mostly by accident thinking it’s a Facebook post. No doubt Meta count that as active engagement, but I don’t.

Living in Mill Hill is weird. There is Mill Hill East, around the tube station, Mill Hill Broadway, around the train station, and this strange netherworld called Mill Hill which has gradually been bought up by the private school and Jehovah’s Witnesses that has had its amenities and soul sucked out.
