Dolly Parton came from so little yet she gave so generously - both with her enormous talent & just as much with her resources, always championing the forgotten or overlooked. Her legacy is not just in her incredible music but in teaching us all how to be better neighbours. She’ll be dearly missed.

Caring has been central to my life, and the lives of millions across the country. I'll be meeting the Prime Minister today to discuss how we can finally find a solution to the care crisis. We need to do things differently. I really hope we are on a journey to fix this.

The social care crisis is a catastrophe for families, for the NHS and for local services. Liberal Democrats stand ready to work across party lines to tackle this existential crisis. For carers and for our country. Nothing matters more.

End the social care catastrophe:

1. Put family carers front and centre with guaranteed rights for every carer

2. Universal safety net, including free personal care

3. Protect people from catastrophic costs

As Burnham enters Number 10, he will face many challenges. One of the biggest: the social care crisis. Elderly people left bedbound without support & families losing everything to pay care fees. It has to stop. If Burnham is serious about fixing this crisis, we @libdems.org.uk will work with him.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Earlier this week I joined Adoption UK and Kinship in Parliament to hear from families about adoption and kinship support. Their experiences echoed what families in Mid Sussex have told me: support must be consistent, specialist and shaped by those who rely on it.

They hold a sign reading: “I am standing up for greater support for adoptive and kinship families.”Alison Bennett MP stands in front of Adoption UK and Adoption and Permanence banners, holding a sign reading: “I am standing up for greater support for adoptive and kinship families.”

The rot at FIFA has gone too far. Under Infantino, political greed has completely broken the game we love. We can't just watch from the sidelines anymore, the FA and our European partners need to walk away and build a fair, clean alternative from scratch. It’s time to move on.

Recess starts this week but the work for North East Hampshire presses on. Over this period, I will be out speaking with constituents, working alongside local groups and getting things done for our community. 🔶

📍A memorable week in Westminster before recess. This week I: 🏥 Pushed the Health Secretary yet again to move Basingstoke Hospital up the rebuilding list. 💧 Criticised the Government's planning changes, which are leaving our infrastructure and nature vulnerable.

Our chalk streams are incredibly precious and need protecting. It was absolutely brilliant to join the newly founded Chalk Streams All Party Parliamentary Group to discuss what we can do in Parliament to protect these unique ecosystems.

Britain is an island 🇬🇧 So why don't we have a Coastal Minister? Today, I've written to the incoming PM repeating my calls for one who can fight for the investment, jobs & opportunities our coastal communities deserve. It's time the coast had a voice at the heart of Government.
