I encourage all of us to have the grace and focus shown in this going up within minutes of the race being called.
Same people who would (correctly) be furious if Haley didn't do this are choosing to grind axes about her campaign. Grow up. Elections are zero sum. Yeah, her campaign was shitty. No one's saying you have to like her, but sore winner is a real bad look and a worse way to get her supporters on board
Engrained in this for a lot of people is the implicit belief that Arabs & Muslims belong to the Democratic Party & if they voted for Republicans it was spiteful about Gaza and not normal Republican reasons like lower taxes or homophobia

This was obviously not the case with "Abandon Harris," but anyone conflating the two is doing so out of either ignorance or malice.

#StupidSuez@diplomatofnight.com · 5h agoThe co-founder of the 2024 National Uncommitted Movement, Abbas Alawieh, decisively won his primary to become a State Senator in Michigan. Abbas was endorsed by both Bernie Sanders and Gretchen Whitmer. Abbas Alawieh also privately met with former VP Kamala Harris last month upon her request.
It gets an actual chuckle out of me seeing people on here say "now the TRUE test is whether the shitlibs can live up to their own words and line up behind El-Sayed!" only for Stevens, Whitmer, every prominent Michigan Dem, the DSCC, etc. to have endorsed El-Sayed before they can finish the sentence.

This clears the bar of "good enough." If you held out in the fall, fuck you, you deserve what you get (and we all pay the price). But if you told people that they needed to back Harris, you're on the right side of the line.

Probably the fastest political realignment cycle in our lifetimes. From dropping out to "pretty much everyone in the DNC nominations process has lined up behind Harris and there are gays on vacation in P-town already branding her campaign with Charli XCX merch" in less than 72h.

I voted uncommitted and if I hadn't done that I'd have simply not voted lmao, there wasn't any chance of Biden not actually winning the nomination I also donated to his campaign, this whole narrative is fucking absurd
The 2024 primary had nothing to do with her, I voted Uncommitted in Wisconsin because Biden was clearly declining and was arming a genocide, was happy when he dropped out and voted Harris in November despite her not backing off arming the genocide, we held our noses and you can too
"Uncommitted" got lumped in with "Abandon Biden/Harris", but they were definitely separate things
Stevens endorsed sometime this morning. That is very quick and should go aways toward healing wounds. It won't fix everything instantly but its a good start and puts everyone onto the same team path.
The head of the Democracy Alliance, the big donor network, releasing a statement is perhaps more important.
