The vile attacks on Amy Acton need to be seen in the context of a party that *needs* people to believe women fabricating sexual assaults is common as rainwater. Because it’s pretty much the only way to evade the conclusion that the president is a rapist.

Beyond disgusted by even more rape allegations against the President of the United States. "In total, more than 25 different women...have independently accused Donald Trump of rape, sexual assault, or other sexual misconduct." Report w/ new details: democrats-judiciary.house.gov/sites/evo-su...

If you're fine with your tax dollars paying goosestepping ICE fascists to shove children in concentration camps but just think they need "reform," but you are not fine with your tax dollars funding gender affirming care, you are, in fact, a bad person.

The "protection" narrative promoted by Trump and far-right groups like Heritage is a dangerous fallacy. Trump's DOE has abandoned sexual assault investigations under Title IX. It has set rules that effectively put the survivors of rape on trial and that favor the men accused of victimizing them.

The Trump administration has worked to portray itself as protecting women and girls through their anti-trans policies. Meanwhile, they've worked tirelessly to undermine protections against sexual assault. Wither Title IX, in this exceptional new reported story by @billiejsweeney.bsky.social.

Serano also did a comprehensive review of *every* study on the subject last year and found that the vast majority support the claim that detransition and regret are extremely low in their odds. The best studies, she noted, find regret rates between 1-3%. juliaserano.medium.com/lies-damned-...

Those who are politically minded will see parallels to rhetoric today. This is no coincidence. These movements aren't in isolation - many of the very groups that were behind this initial push, e.g. Family Research Council, Alliance Defending Freedom - are now pushing against trans rights today.

In 2009, the American Psychological Association conducted a detailed report on the subject, surveying all the available evidence They concluded that there is no proof that conversion therapy works for neither cis gays nor trans people, and that to the contrary, it is so harmful that it ruins lives.

Josh Turek of Iowa, Democrat, comes out with one of the worst anti-trans ads yet. Not only is it an anti-sports ad, it proposes a ban on federal funding for gender affirming care. That would hit all medicaid and medicare patients, and any ACA federally-subsidized plans as well. Horrific.

There was a fucking hole in our planet’s *atmosphere* Like a legit, no joke, “this will unravel our entire ecosystem” hole in the world, and then we fixed it by working together across national and political lines As a species we decided, “we will survive” Let’s do that some more

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

And one huge part of what I did was to work with gender segregated service providers -- homeless shelters, anti-DV shelters, anti-rape/SA agencies -- to dispel the myth that danger is created by gender and not behaviour. Of all the things I worked on, safety in these spaces was my focus.

In a major escalation in Dems embracing anti-trans positions, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the official campaign arm of House Democrats, released its first anti-trans ad supporting Nancy Lacore in SC-01. Transphobia is spreading among dems. Subscribe to support our journalism.

DCCC Releases Its First Anti-Trans Ad, Supporting SC Democrat Nancy Lacore

The ad is the first known ad from the high-level Democratic congressional campaigning arm targeting trans people this election.

My teenage children, who have never set foot in NYC, go around saying "Help me, Mamdani!" whenever anything goes wrong and/or they can't figure out their homework, just to give everybody a sense of the scale of this man's presence in the culture lol
