Okay, so I have a plan to get everyone on our side. First, we be absolutely as viscerally unpleasant as possible. Next, we downplay any time we get what we want, say it's the bare minimum and so forth. Finally, if anyone gives up and says we win or apologizes, we belittle them.

also: 'the problem will go away under full communism' is not a convincing pitch to most people. if you spend too long in certain crowds you may forget this or come to believe it's not true.

Being a migrant who is also white and fluent in English is such a peculiar experience because people around you will act like you should automatically believe you are one of the good ones, and as such very eagerly reveal what they think of those who don't, let's say, pass.

It's that we no longer support the things which facilitate growth: Europe, immigration, higher education, tax simplification, policy stability. These are all choices and could stop making them anytime.

Putting everything else aside, I'm actually surprised how many Mitchell and Webb sketches featured black face? I remembered a couple of them, namely the reenactment one, but it is a real "the past is a different place" thing, except the past is my teenage years.
I /am/ an immigrant and I /was/ an ethnic minority even in my country of birth. I speak with some authority when I say this is an absurd worldview that you can only backengineer when you are trying to give a progressive veneer to an essentially childish impulse.
I'm sorry, but "you're welcome here but ONLY if you moved from another country, not from another city" is not a normal worldview. Your brain is not operating within expected parameters.
You see, they're an immigrant when you're related to them, and they're a transplant when you're not. It's very simple.
