You know what’s not great for women’s sexual desire? When men partners pressure them to have sex! Surprisingly, there’s been very little research on this association. UNTIL NOW! 😉 Excited to announce our new open access article on sexual coercion & desire, published in Sex Roles! rdcu.be/fxXCV

Russell Vought is an evil man. This plan is nothing short of a personal take-over of federal grant making. It will affect ALL of us. Political commissars will now be in charge of all agencies, reporting to him. But we are not powerless. See what you can do below. 1/ www.thenation.com/article/poli...

Russell Vought’s Latest Plan to Gut the Government Should Terrify You

A proposed new rule changing the way the federal government hands out money could be absolutely devastating for every single person in this country.

Massacre upon massacre in Beirut in the last hour. AUBMC announced a “code disaster.” Over 100 airstrikes in 10 minutes across the country. One hit right behind my house. Sirens ambulances & the smell of sulphur. The city is in total chaos the people in complete panic

🚨New preprint and our results are rather concerning.. We find the "boiling frog" equivalent of AI use. Using large-scale RCTs, we provide *casual* evidence that AI assistance reduces persistence and hurts independent performance. And these effects emerge after just 10–15 minutes of AI use! 1/

Tehran tonight. Twenty people were killed in a US–Israeli attack on Niloufar Square, a busy mixed residential and commercial neighborhood in Tehran. (The photo was taken by Iran’s Student News Network and has been geolocated.)

Trio of people covered in dust and ash, including an elderly woman and a man carrying a woman in his arms. The street behind them is in flames.

I'll be presenting work on the Development and Validation of our new Behavioral Objectification from a Partner (BOP) Scale at SPSP, which demonstrates implications of experiencing sexual objectification from a partner for women's sexual/relationship wellbeing. Fri, Feb. 27th at 9:30 am! #SPSP2026

Bots have made their way to Prolific experiments. Our lab has stopped online testing of adults entirely now for this reason - we want to know if what we study is real. Probably data collected 2-3 years ago are ok, but moving forward we just can't know. www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/...

Yesterday, those who teach Intro to Sociology at Florida colleges (as opposed to universities) received a ready-made curriculum from the state and were ordered to teach it. Yes, you read that correctly. The *state* is enforcing a curriculum on college profs, complete w/ the following restrictions:

In the concentration camp universe, this is what's known as a filtration camp. A government preemptively takes a whole class of people to interrogate and detain extrajudicially in order to inflict duress on them while arbitrarily assessing their (supposed) culpability.

This is a truly horrifying memo. It says that the policy of the US government will now be to proactively seek out and arrest likely tens of thousands of refugees who entered legally under Biden and subject them to detention, where they will be interrogated about their status.

The rest of the thread gets into it, but the violence is less visible—and that translates into fewer resources for growing need. Minnesota is truly in an economic crisis. Every harm compounds every day that the ICE occupation continues. If you donated a month ago, it’s time to donate again.

My sense of Minnesota today is that there’s less tear gas and the same amount of unlawful detention, destruction of families, loss of livelihood, people in hiding. There is less tear gas at places like Lake and Lyndale, so it’s not making news.

Civilians have had apparent seizures. One had his eyes roll back. Another had ribs broken. “I felt like I was going to pass out and die,” said a 16-year-old citizen put in a chokehold. The government won’t say if any agents have been punished.

“Holding facilities were so crowded that immigrants in one cell had to take turns lying down because there was no space, according to a refugee detained there for one night in January. Basic human needs like food and medical care were sometimes denied. ‘There was no humanity.’”

‘No humanity’: Detainees describe conditions inside Whipple Federal Building

Immigration sweep brings overcrowded rooms and overflowing toilets. Lawyers say they can’t visit their clients. The Department of Homeland Security says “all detainees receive full due process.”

If you see this, don't participate. It's a rigged study by Lisa Littman and unethical researcher J. Michael Bailey meant to undermine access to care. Spread the word.

I know all eyes are on Minneapolis, but there's a fast-approaching nightmare in Springfield, Ohio. Trump is revoking protected status for tens of thousands of Haitians living there on Feb. 3. Reportedly, on Feb. 4, 1000 ICE agents are arriving to remove this population. Ethnic cleansing.
