I just wanna tell you that you are doing an amazing job living in a country that doesn’t support you at all.. One that is actually trying to harm you, gravely. Everything you do to make your life work and be able to survive is quite amazing. Keep it up.

"How many people are just going shopping, getting their food and going to work, honorable people" being disappeared?
Massachusetts officials want ICE to explain apparent detentions in New Bedford this week. Mayor Jon Mitchell says at least eight people have been detained, and Gov. Maura Healey says locals report at least a dozen, including fathers. ICE has not confirmed or denied an operation.

You can’t have it both ways. You can’t be “It’s simple math, vote blue no matter who, grow up” and ALSO believe you are fighting fascism by making calculations as to who’s expendable. The world we’re in now demands more from us. More from everyone.
It’s very simple and it’s been said over and over but I guess it needs saying continuously: if you deem one group too small to have equal rights you are enabling fascism, not fighting it. The people saying Dems are GREAT on trans rights are not paying attention and/or saying stuff like this.

Any lesson I have for dealing with the times we live is really just boils down to: never let the censorialists of the reactionary left, right, or center stop you from becoming new.
It seems to me modern communication technology makes the intense organization & mobilization of such brownshirt militias less needful since a tweet is now enough to achieve all that's needed: coordinating a sufficient quantum of violent threat to intimidate enemies & keep allies in line.
A mostly invisible force shaping politics in the Trump era—esp since 2025—is his ability to summon threats of violence & death against his opponents to such a degree it's become a material factor in political actors' decision making. I think a good term for this is "stochastic brownshirtism."
As someone who went through it, I promise you, it was an occupation. Looked and felt like we were being overtaken. I’m still triggered as are SO many of us. I am changed from it, it was absolute terror.
