Today I’m thinking of Dr. Fauci and what Trump and RFK Jr. may try to do to the doctor from the Pennsylvania Department of Health who adjudicated the two measles deaths. The CDC Director’s decision to remove the two deaths from the dataset has wide-ranging consequences no matter the outcome.

I’ve seen a few doctors in the media blaming the Pennsylvania Department of Health for “politicizing” the announcement of two deaths from measles, or worse, claiming that PADOH physicians “overstated” evidence. I reject this completely. Measles is a reportable disease. This means that all known…

The already-bad SNAP & Medicaid situation is fated to worsen starting in October. Thanks to Trump's Big Beautiful Bill, that's when states become responsible for billions in costs for those programs. Making things worse, many states slashed taxes in recent years, leaving them strapped for cash.

Wave of Tax Cuts Has Left Many States Vulnerable to Trump SNAP and Medicaid Crisis

President Donald Trump’s so-called One Big Beautiful Bill Act will shift billions in costs for SNAP and Medicaid to states. But with 26 having cut or eliminated state income taxes just since 2021, the...

This piece from @27unihted.bsky.social on how RFK Jr. captured another federal advisory committee, this one for autism, is mind blowing. People with autism and their families will be harmed using your tax dollars, because RFK Jr. got a bunch of cranks and snake oil peddlers on the committee.

HHS's strategic plan for autism just dropped, and it's scarier than we thought.

A recent survey found that 92% of U.S. adults have delayed or avoided medical care due to high costs. Meanwhile, a new study from Yale estimates that Medicare for All would save over 114,000 lives and $1 trillion a year. If this country was truly “pro-life,” we would have universal healthcare.

We’ve update our Medicaid enrollment tracker and the news for children isn’t good. Since January 2025 there has been a shocking drop of 2.3 million kids enrolled in Medicaid/CHIP. This means the child uninsured rate is likely going up.

This story is horrifying. I was waiting for the moment when private equity was mentioned and then there it was. This is the sad result of a society that values rich people and their money, more than human life. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

A for-profit hospital slashed costs. Then a patient froze to death on its roof.

A little-known company grew on promises to save distressed hospitals. Instead, it sunk them into financial chaos.
