Raise the Colours Oxfordshire organiser Ben Cullen head-butted a highways worker after police were called to McDonalds in Benson where highways staff were attempting to remove flags from lamp posts; Highways staff now wear unbranded PPE, work in unbranded vehicles, wear face coverings to hide their identity, and do not travel alone for fear of attacks; Highways staff working on streetlight maintenance, not flag removal, have been spat on and abused by RTC supporters; Cullen and his partner Trudy Wells posted the office addresses and phone numbers of highways depots online, leading to comments suggesting “hanging council workers from those same lamp posts”; RTC Oxfordshire fixed trackers to the vehicles used by highways staff, then used this to find out their home addresses – which have been published online, and repeated to staff with threatening messages; Highways depots now have to remain locked at all times; A highways contractor’s sponsorship of a children’s football club is being rethought after concerns that children could be targeted.

I suspect part of the reason ‘speaking ill of the dead’ gets the British pundit class’s hackles up is that it is unpleasant to be confronted with the uncertainty of one’s ultimate legacy, having grown accustomed a lifestyle and social set in which one is rarely made to face consequences.

and unless you are actually in it, everyone else needs to stfu. it is an internal matter. I don't care what a mere spectator who doesn't even ordinarily support women's sports thinks about trans women in women's sports.

Trans inclusion is so well understood among the women's sports scene and especially among women's contact sports like rugby, roller derby, ice hockey etc that this is a widely well organised thing large parts of the women's sports scene is organising over.

A couple of months on, an update: the current system allows TDs to lodge PQs simply by sending the text to an designated email address. After the recess they’ll have to use a gated online system to supply questions instead, making it more cumbersome to lodge multiple interrelated questions at once.
