Sort-of librarian, cat butler, average gardener, massive gay, he/him, opinions are mine.
Ex-PM Starmer said, in response to Raise the Colours terrorising people, ‘I am supporter of flags’, ‘I’m very encouraging of flags. I think they’re patriotic and I think they’re a great symbol of our nation’ and his family had ‘got St George’s flag in our flat’ www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home...
The campaign of harassment and intimidation Raise the Colours have undertaken against council staff, contractors, and members of the public as reported by the Clarion today is shocking if not surprising. Excellent reporting. oxfordclarion.uk/the-clarion-...
I suspect part of the reason ‘speaking ill of the dead’ gets the British pundit class’s hackles up is that it is unpleasant to be confronted with the uncertainty of one’s ultimate legacy, having grown accustomed a lifestyle and social set in which one is rarely made to face consequences.
Cannot believe the British right are trying to make a martyr out of this racist.
The Spectator has seen fit to republish a 2012 poem by Rod Liddle dedicated to the Metropolitan Police. Count the racist stereotypes and then ponder: do no white British people commit crime in London?
remember, whenever u take the cat to the vet, to them it's an episode of the X Files
and unless you are actually in it, everyone else needs to stfu. it is an internal matter. I don't care what a mere spectator who doesn't even ordinarily support women's sports thinks about trans women in women's sports.
Trans inclusion is so well understood among the women's sports scene and especially among women's contact sports like rugby, roller derby, ice hockey etc that this is a widely well organised thing large parts of the women's sports scene is organising over.
Eternally funny to me that previously everyone just sort of agreed to behave themselves and not take the piss, but Ken O'Flynn is constitutionally incapable of acting like an adult, so, here we are
A couple of months on, an update: the current system allows TDs to lodge PQs simply by sending the text to an designated email address. After the recess they’ll have to use a gated online system to supply questions instead, making it more cumbersome to lodge multiple interrelated questions at once.

Skilled political operators who did things like sending Peter Mandelson sympathy texts.
Labour MPs unhappy with the treatment of Starmer loyalists have warned they could make life hard for Burnham at the Budget “Andy’s Starmerite purge has created an incredibly powerful phalanx of skilled political operators who intimately know the government’s fiscal position" Harriet Symonds writes

Some people really down on the Sarwar appointment, but you have to remember that beyond his stellar record of results for Scottish Labour, he's also a special category of political operator: someone who got outplayed by Keir Starmer.
Sitting alone in my house laughing my head off at this, just when you think the Labour party might not have absolutely fucked it. www.thescottishsun.co.uk/news/1658218...

On the 5th August, the EHRC's Code of Practice becomes statutory guidance. It will make life even harder for many trans & non-binary people. It's unworkable & harmful. The Good Law Project is challenging & wants to hear from people affected by these exclusions. goodlawproject.org/discriminato...

I see the Starmer fandom is still accusing all his critics of being thick, stirred up by Russian propagandists, right-wing media or bots. He was objectively a bad and incapable Prime Minister, guys. Get over it
This is what happens from being the only country where the major party of the liberal left breaks ranks and becomes institutionally transphobic. People follow elite cues!
This is actually CRAZY work - we are more anti trans than several countries including the US, which are arguably not even liberal democracies
The TLDR of this and every single other tedious dating across the divide piece is a man having trouble accepting he may not be the catch of the county*. *Except me, there's definitely something wrong with you if you don't like me.
