Not a physician, utility-bikes a lot (~5000km/year), DFH, works on Go compiler. (I do not speak for my employer.) Sometimes know things about programming languages, (cargo) bicycles, lilies, Florida. He/him. Ex(?) Florida Man. Now near Boston, MA, USA.

It's amazing how drivers who cannot see cyclists, pedestrians or road furniture when you suggest that they should not crash into them suddenly become positively omniscient when someone points out that their personal observations about cyclists run counter to any & all objective evidence.

It has always been weird to me that there aren't super cranky bicycle libertarians. you're not chaining me to your road maintenance and fuel taxes, GUBMINT! I'm loading my cargo bike up with canned food and shotguns! makes so much sense?

According to anti-cyclist replies, here's evidence that cars and bikes are equally dangerous: 🚗: They kill ~40000 people in the US annually 🚲: I saw a cyclist run a red light 30 years ago

Drivers need to keep in mind that they have actually really poor visibility of other cars. You can see the ones immediately in front of and behind you, sometimes oncoming ones, sometimes in other lanes. But since bikes and cars travel at different rates frequently, we each see more of the other.

I could count on one hand the number of cars I’ve seen blow through a red light or stop sign in the last few years, but I can’t even count how many cyclists I’ve seen do it. Which is even more remarkable when you consider how many more cars there are than bikes on the road.

Private Equity destroys everything. I have to work with these guys almost every single day. However evil you think they are, they are worse. They do not have any humanity left in them. We should use them as fertilizer. And yes, I mean that from the bottom of my heart.

America is now a joke country where citizens are arrested to cover up for the president’s lies on social media. We’ve replaced DEI with incompetence and protecting the egos of mediocre white men.

The huge publicity in NYC from media-amplified whining wealthy homeowners with second homes saying they are middle class victims of the pied a terre tax makes 3/4ths of this city eye roll and identify with the Mayor and his agenda. He looks hard core, standing up to powers that be.

The people who falsely accused an Olympian of vandalizing the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool are the same people telling you to trust them about the war with Iran

The only responsible attitude for liberals and progressives to align on is that all right-wing grievances, claims and believes are not only false, but malicious lies. Nothing passes the mouth of an American conservative in public life that is not meant to harm and destroy the lives of millions.

Reiterating that Musk's literal voter bribery last time was an unambiguous go-directly-to-jail felony, for which people have been successfully prosecuted over vastly smaller amounts. It wasn't just pouring money into a PAC, whatever one thinks of that. It was a black-letter plain-as-day crime.

Yes, Elon Musk’s Vote-Buying Is Against the Law

People have gone to prison for comparable schemes.

Musk got away with his $1 million vote-buying scheme in 2024. Why wouldn't he try something similar this November?

In case you are migrating between phones: GOOGLE HAS IMPLEMENTED A COOLDOWN ON YOUR PHONE BEING USED AS A GOOGLE ACCOUNT PASSKEY. it will generate a valid passkey, but refuse to accept it / demand you re-auth with a different passkey or a security key for first ~48 hours. this is a good feature.
