Pretty grim. Leaves me with the impression we are entering a "dark forest" era of the internet. Only large corporations/sites will be able to spend the resources to defend against unregulated AI-driven attacks, while the rest of us lose access to free-flowing and unbiased information.

OK it finally happened: I was just cited in a preprint by an "independent researcher" with an AI coauthor. Almost entirely gibberish and unrelated to the cited paper. The author claims to be a product manager at Asus but also does research on the side. Has several preprints since March, all AI.

This is a damning chart. Gonna have to dismantle these prediction markets posthaste. We need leaders who will do that
