Sometimes it feels like, to the angry internet poster, games are just in the back kitchen waiting to be served up, and the developers are the service that brings them to their table. Like really, how do you enjoy a hobby and also actively hate the people that make the product EXIST?
Ask anyone who grew up with a Dendy or a Terminator or a Polystation if lack of access to the latest expensive hardware stopped them getting into games

Everything they possibly can on every used console, simple mobile device, anything. Not great for new huge games, but you could sooner eradicate cockroaches.
