I am not a fan of Brutalism, but this residential building in Montreal is absolutely something to behold.

I've been told I have a hero complex, but I actually think it's quite simple.

I am becoming incredibly exhausted of this pattern: many people: "AI sucks!" Very Smart Person: ah but have you considered (distinct application of ML or statistical modeling that has no real relationship to what the tech industry is marketing as, and people broadly perceive as, "AI")
apropos of nothing, here's a terrific feature about a meaningful, life-saving use of artificial intelligence, which I have been thinking about for over a year. it's just extremely stupid to say that AI has zero benefits even if you don't think it should be used in writing (which I don't)!
Early Cartoon Network was hugely inspired by the UPA animator Bobe Cannon. Artists like Genndy Tartakovsky loved his style of movement, studied it and put it in their work. We're looking into Cannon's methods and how they shaped these shows: animationobsessive.substack.com/p/the-animat...
I now know that at least one of my exes lives in Texas. I think I'll continue to hang my hat near Tennessee.
“Data is the last frontier of colonization. They took our land and tried to sell it back to us. Now, they're taking our data and selling it back to us as a service.” Wealthy states still colonize Global Majority countries - only now instead of grabbing land, they grab minerals, labor, and data.
I've found so many good accounts now that I'm hitting the follow button on anyone else trying to talk sense to the Stancil.
I get why everyone thinks Will Stancil is an idiot masquerading as a smart person now. It's like listening to a younger version of myself who thought people's rejection of my narrowly defined hypotheticals was their fault for not seeing it in the context I so cleverly thought of it in.
I thought it was corruption that made people ignore how fossil fuels, minerals mined by child labor, and deals with autocrats ruin people's lives. It's clear that even intelligent people can ignore these problems when that thing that hurts others is "useful" to them. lore.kernel.org/linux-media/...

If no one knows if either the U.S. or Russia's nukes even work, can we change it from M.A.D. (Mutually Assured Destruction) to M.U.D. (Mutually Unsure Destruction)?
Why would anyone want to prosper if that prosperity funded war and genocide?

I mean no disrespect but I can't believe we're still pretending "corporations never cared about Pride" is an interesting thing to say. even during peak corp Pride I think you had to be exceptionally dim to not get what was going on lol like yeah I think I know Chipotle would kill me for a nickel

It takes a lot of effort to out stupid Elon Musk, but Bluesky moderation seems up to the task.
thank you for the invite but i'll be busy dwelling on my personal failings that evening

A "Chief Justice" who clearly has no concept of what justice actually is. Sometimes decisions are unpopular for a good reason.
NEW: Chief Justice John Roberts bemoans that Americans don't understand how the Supreme Court operates and see justices as "political actors". The court at times simply has to make "unpopular" decisions, he adds: www.nbcnews.com/politics/sup...

I'm just gonna say it. The lizard people have been doing a bad job lately.
The Free Speech Coalition is serious about starting an adult industry credit union. Part of this is being able to show regulators that enough people would use it, so please fill out this form if you're interested! (Yes, credit unions can issue credit cards!) www.freespeechcoalition.com/survey

We need to get rid of this overtly fascist government run by corporations so that we can return to our covertly fascist government run by corporations.
