Black and trans women TOLD EVERYONE THIS WAS WHAT THEY WERE GOING FOR THEY TOLD YOU

"both competitive drive [of men] and male friendship have suffered under the weaponized application of Title IX" @heritagefdn.bsky.social claims...adding that "cheerleading, dance, yoga...and recreational intramurals" are "more aligned with average female interests" www.heritage.org/gender/repor...

There's this concept in Feminist Theory called Marked/Unmarked. Women are marked. Men are unmarked. In plainer English: women are the exception; men are the default. Notice they never want to preserve men's sport from trans men who are literally controlling the amount of testosterone they have.

Michele Tafoya: "If you want to play and make money and have opportunities as a person in the WNBA as a woman, it should not bother you to take a cheek swab test to just prove that you've the chromosomes to play in that league"

But health insurance companies have become bloated monopolies so we’re paying $1000+/month per person to get a $1000 deductible and limited provider choice. Who still says they like their health insurance company???

I’m sorry but you gotta suppress the politician saying “if you like your private insurance company you can keep it” in your head. 150 million people can’t get abortions legally already. we gotta think bigger than this

The FDA just approved daraxonrasib, a breakthrough drug for advanced pancreatic cancer that doubles survival time. This is huge: pancreatic cancer was once thought untreatable. The researchers received a standing ovation when they presented the trial results, unheard of at scientific conferences.

SHOUT-OUT to Political Cartoonist extraordinaire & Member of the Order of Canada Michael de Adder, who routinely does a far better job of holding this administration accountable than the corporate media. Thank you for your attention to his brilliant satirical wit! 🙏 (also: 🤣)

Money & time. For the SAVE act, I think a married woman needs a Real ID driver's license & a certified copy of your marriage certificate. The license is $30 -- plus having time and transportation to go to the DMV. The county where I was born charges $20 for a birth certificate copy. It takes weeks.

When Salk developed the polio vaccine, “Church bells tolled, factory whistles blew. People ran into the streets weeping…Eisenhower invited Jonas Salk to the White House, where he choked up while thanking Salk for saving the world's children” Today we have RFK Jr 😢 www.npr.org/sections/npr...

Defeating Polio, The Disease That Paralyzed America

On April 12, 2015, the world will celebrate the 60th anniversary of Jonas Salk's vaccine that helped defeat a contagious, crippling virus.

VOTER ID LAWS ARE A POLL TAX. Just a reminder for folks who think it’s not a big deal. (Do some research on how much it costs to get an ID that proves US citizenship if you think I’m wrong.)

Bellevue is having a moment. A wave of new businesses, restaurants and community events is bringing fresh energy to the borough — a transformation that’s been years in the making. Here’s a look at what’s behind Bellevue’s resurgence.

Dry no more: Wave of new businesses, community events reinvigorate Bellevue

Lisa Saylor fondly remembers growing up in Bellevue. Born in the borough in 1968, Saylor recalls walking to and from school daily, along with the bustling commercial district that was Lincoln Avenue, ...

Taken with my wife's birding camera. (Nikon P900) I ended up having to sit down and prop my elbows on my knees to keep the camera stead enough to snap pics. These were taken at pretty close to maximum.

A picture of the partial lunar eclipse at almost 94%. The top sliver of the moon is washed out while the remainder is deep red and the very bottom-most portion is almost completely dark. The craters of the moon are all visible in good detail.Another picture of the partial lunar eclipse at almost 94%. Dang - was just reminded that there’s a partial lunar eclipse tonight and miracle of miracles, it’s clear in Pittsburgh!!!

I spoke about being queer in a religious upbringing to 200 Scottish teens at book event this afternoon. Had seven (yes, seven) queer students and two trans students come out to me quietly in the signing queue afterwards, one of them in tears. I will never forgive those who make their lives so hard.
