I did a bit of very minor digging and Taylor Farms also sells under the brands Earthbound Farm and Eat Smart. In addition to Taco Bell they also supply to Chipotle, McDonald's, Olive Garden, and Red Lobster. Are these compromised? Who fucking knows 🤷🏻‍♀️ but better safe than sorry.

Props to consumer reports for their journalism here. Since Taylor foods and the FDA are not disclosing where all the lettuce went they’re doing a great job trying to figure out the details. For now they’re recommending everyone trash all their iceberg. www.consumerreports.org/health/food-...

The recall notices posted by Taylor Farms and the FDA are notably sparse on the essential details consumers need to easily identify affected products. The recall notice does not list the full brand names of the implicated products, and instead lists only what appear to be the abbreviations used internally by Taylor Farms to identify brands. Walmart's Marketside house brand, for instance, was listed as "MKTSD" and Sysco, the U.S.'s largest food distributor, was listed as "SY." Both companies confirmed that their products were part of the recall after being contacted by Consumer Reports. CR is working to confirm the identities of the six additional brands whose names are abbreviated in the recall notice. Taylor Farms did not immediately respond to CR's questions about the identity of these brands. Given the lack of details, CR's food safety experts advise consumers in the 27 states where Taylor Farms' products were distributed to discard all iceberg lettuce out of an abundance of caution.

I did some digging in this and thread below on places you might encounter Taylor Farms in addition to lettuce -- they sell onions and cilantro to restaurants so don't order dishes with those raw. The other big one is unlabelled grocery store deli fruit and veggie snacks, or cold sandwiches.

It’s worth noting that Taco Bell identified the source before the FDA did, and promptly pulled it from their stores. The FDA didn’t even name the source until Taylor Farms outed themselves, and hasn’t issued a recall. Basically, Taco Bell is now a more reliable authority than the FDA.

Many areas including NY, WI and MI have extremely poor air quality due to wildfire smoke. While public health agencies advise people to stay indoors and avoid strenuous activity, farm workers are out working in these conditions. 1/

Hard work in these conditions draws harmful fine particles deep into their lungs, and most workers have no choice but to go to work. For seasonal or migrant workers, the housing is often not climate controlled leading to poor quality interior air, too. 2/
