The Monster Can't Shut Up Actually

I'm very normal.

Forget Dialectical Behavioral Therapy give me Diabolical Behavioral Therapy — where your therapist helps you think of the worst possible thing you could do in a situation and then encourages you to do it

So, uh, a candidate who suspended his campaign a month ago is winning a landslide against a Trump endorsed candidate because of anti-Muslim prejudice against a guy who is not Muslim (and I guess probably also just regular racism). How often does a candidate who suspended their campaign win?

Seems like an upset might be brewing in the GOP primary in #MI08 to take on Dem Rep. Kristen McDonald Rivet. Trump endorsed Amir Hassan, but he currently trails an absolute nobody who suspended his campaign a month ago by a wide margin.

That HWA pro-AI lady has an AI-powered "writing coach" app she just launched and lol btw I will be your writing coach for free with no AI! Here: Turn off Bsky, you creep closer to death every day so WORK ON YOUR BOOK NOW--the discourse will still be here in the morning. You're welcome! 🥰

I think there's something really fascinating here, in the argument of transmasculine as "the default body", because in some ways, the masculine presentation with creative potential IS considered a default, as in, that is, uh, kind of a western conception of God, actually

You are a default body, you are an aberrant body, you are basically cis, you cannot really be trans, you do not deserve or require the same care as women or other queer men

Every so often I feel like bringing up, in the first chapter of Female Masculinity, Halberstam talks about butches being harassed in women's restrooms way back in the 90s and notes, correctly, if people REALLY believed these butches were men, they would not be harassing them like this.

How much anti trans and anti lesbian stuff rhyme is fucking egregious. I remember being told that lesbians were Like That because they had too much testosterone.

sometimes fantasy authors come up with the concept "there are things older than history and prehistory.. otherworldly things the human mind cant comprehend" and for Lovecraft that means "monster so freaky it drives you insane" and for Tolkien it means "some guy named Tom with an extremely fine wife"

I'm neither a trans woman nor athletic but the thing I've noticed about "women's spaces" (in this case including sport) is that even if they're "encouraging" something "masculine" (like sports) there's always an invisible threshold at which point you're TOO manly and therefore suspect.

"This presents a problem for the right: If your winning issue is trans women in sports, and you're struggling to uncover trans women in any league that anybody has ever heard of, then how do you keep trans athletes at the top of people's minds? Answer: You invent them." defector.com/the-right-ha...

A good thread, and it's actually scary how much antisemitism has risen on all platform (I don't use Twitter anymore). Like on Tiktok, Instagram etc. It'll be anything from dogwhistles wrapped up in wafer thing Anti-Zionist pretence, to just outright antisemitism like vile cartoons of Jewish people

פינחס יוסף מונד@pymundgenealogy.bsky.social · yesterday

Bluesky does not have the same proportion of antisemitism as Twitter, do not be ridiculous, I am quite qualified to judge this roughly at least
