She/her fat black queer, disabled femme, leftist in my 30s, sometimes publicly slutty, sometimes publicly depressed. I talk about food and books a lot and I try to be kind.

"Why can't you just appreciate how revolutionary the job-taking, environment-degrading, information-shredding, technology-hoarding, economy-swamping machine is?" My brother in Christ, there may indeed be a revolution in part because of "AI," but it might not be the one you wanted.

Aside from the fucked up morality of it all, is it not TRANSPARENTLY obvious that people who want to train children to submit to invasive bodily testing are people who should never have access to children? This FEELS obvious to me.

I keep bringing up that one huge reason oligarchs love the algorithmic impostors is that they know how few artists actually agree with them, and they want to hijack our art STYLES to churn out propaganda we'd never agree to make.

"This story is about Female Rage, where a woman gets angry over being horribly mistreated and abused, but eventually learns to forgive and move on and be a nurturing kind soul instead of vengeful, which would be masculine and unbecoming---" Shut up. Let women rip out their abuser's spines.

My favorite niche objection to AI is that it's DISincentivizing people to take software updates, which leaves them without important security patches. Previously, we had actually been making progress! Apple liked to bundle new emojis with updates so people were like, ooh, I want to type a burrito!

Ahem. I am looking for some book reccs for a friend of mine - early 20s male, autistic person - who is having a really hard time finding modern fantasy that isn't also at least partially romanstacy, which he cannot. Epic Tolkien is his bag, really, but he is seeking new stuff. Pls share for reach!

It's Tuesday afternoon, the toddler's asleep and there are good ebooks on sale! All links to Amazon and Bookshop are affiliate links, other links are not. Affiliate links = I get a small cut of the retailers' profits. Bookshop is my favorite where it's an option! They may be on sale other places!

There will always be people I bar from my communities, but the threshold is "are you doing real harm to the people within the community or the community's ability to thrive" Bring back just pettily disliking folks because you don't like them, without it having to be deeper than that or acted on. 😂

Great article, and also fuck this shit. Imagine thinking that "sure, one option to upending your life to take a test we could not administer is that you should just take the bar exam in February" is a remotely reasonable remedy.

I wrote about the hotass mess that hundreds of recent law grads in Washington are going through for no good reason! ballsandstrikes.org/legal-cultur...

9/x The next major challenge to queer marriage bans was another state case, this time in Hawaii. The Hawaiian state constitution had been interpreted as more protective against sex discrimination than the federal, so organizers had high hopes. And their hopes were realized ... before being dashed.
