Rooney “Arsenal were absolutely robbed tonight, there’s no other way to put it. Look at that foul on Madueke in the box; it’s a stonewall, 100% penalty. How the referee or VAR hasn't given that is beyond me, and it completely changes the dynamic of a Champions League final…..
Why did Labour drop Slapps? Well for three years a discreet group of London's top libel solicitors - members of whom have acted for clients including Russian oligarchs, the disgraced peer Michelle Mone and Jeffrey Epstein - has quietly lobbied ministers and civil servants to kill reform.
It is the marginal pricing system used to determine the wholesale price of electricty that ensures that people can't see that renewables are cheaper. This allows Farage to claim that it is renewables that are making electricity expensive when it is always gas. www.taxresearch.org.uk/Blog/2026/03...
Why gas sets the price of electricity, and why the economics behind it makes no sense
The way electricity prices are determined in the UK is widely misunderstood. Many people assume the price reflects the cost of producing electricity from the cheapest available sources. It does not. I...

Under Roman Abramovich, Chelsea Broke Rules for Years, Premier League Says
nytimes.com
There is so much wrongdoing in this Chelsea case that loads of it is going to get lost. For example the Premier League banned third party ownership in 2008 and the documents show Chelsea’s owners through an Abramovich-controlled company was engaged in it for years after that.
As a Manchester United fan I rightly expect absolutely no sympathy for the abject state of my club. I will also say: Wenger's Arsenal overwhelmed Manchester United fair and square, while Chelsea and Manchester City didn't, and football as a whole is still paying a huge price for that.
Wenger got mocked and memed for years on end while other clubs, particularly Chelsea, had to break the law repeatedly to beat his Arsenal side. It is shameful but of course capitalism has no shame.

Quite remarkable that Chelsea breaking rules to sign seven players (+ three unknown) who during their respective times at the club helped win a Champions League, the Europa League twice, two Premier League titles, two FA Cups and a League Cup didn't merit a points deduction
At least Armstrong was stripped of the titles he cheated to obtain…

I've not been online much today, but did you guys catch the Chelsea news? Everything we thought about Chelsea under Abramovich was true and it's being brushed under the carpet. They were completely corrupt. www.bbc.com/sport/footba...
Seems to me that if a club is found deliberately to have made secret payments, over a long period, for the purpose of circumventing spending rules - and thereby obtaining an unfair advantage - that club ought to have any titles and trophies won in that period vacated.
MAX DOWMAN. 16 YEARS OLD. ETCH THAT INTO EMIRATES HISTORY, ARSENAL HISTORY, PREMIER LEAGUE HISTORY!
From @theathleticfc.bsky.social analysis of Arsenal’s finances and more pertinently, comparison with that of ManCity!! The chasm in wage bill between the two is significant even now!! Kudos to the team and the manager to still compete with City year after year!!
Important to lead with the headline that Arsenal are the ‘villains of the title race’ and would be ‘unpopular champions’ as they go up against the team charged with 115+ counts of cheating to gain an unfair competitive advantage over the other premier league teams.
The fact that Isabel Oakeshott, economic migrant to the UAE may just turn into a refugee fleeing to the UK from a war zone will cause a level of schadenfreude in me that may just make me topple right over.
What "it's a distraction" people fundamentally need to understand about fascism is that fascism's entire mode of operation is diverting popular anger/anxiety/despair into channels of violence against the Other (both internal and external). It's not flailing, it's the whole strategy.
I am already seeing "it's a distraction!" takes and please fucking kill me
The UK version of “Project 2025” by the Reform party includes a British ICE, a concentration camp for 24,000 people, mass surveillance and withdrawing from refugee, anti-torture and anti-trafficking conventions. It’s on their website. That’s how comfortable fascists are in the UK today.
Worth remembering when looking at the horrific scenes in the US right now that both Reform and the Tories have pledged to bring in ICE-style organisations to the UK if they win power
These videos have become a part of my Tuesdays. Darkly informative and infuriating. We live in unjust times and we need to arm ourselves with the reality of the past, present and future. And Sarah and Mark are doing their best to do just that. Please watch and read.

I’d go further and say the majority of people have no idea of the scale of the problem because of the embarrassing job the media does of covering this topic. Kind of incredible when you think of the amount of airtime and column inches dedicated to it.
Today I joined 3 Counties radio where they asked - is immigration the number one issue that politicians should be talking about? I said no. We need to talk about the catastrophic impacts of a stagnant, ageing population WITHOUT immigration
