You know, we lost the actress who played the pigeon lady in Home Alone 2 fairly recently, too. If these things are supposed to come in 3s, I happen to know another 80 year old Home Alone 2 actor that would fit the bill quite nicely.

There is something about obituaries that feels the need to sanitise in imagined neutrality. For some, it is the downplaying of their misdeeds and flaws. For people like Dolly, it is the erasure of what they actually stood for, who was very political. It does a disservice to the living and dead.

my wife has a friend who sent Dolly Parton a painting she made & a letter explaining how much Dolly's music meant to her while she was transitioning. Dolly responded to it personally & paid for her top surgery. Sounds like an urban legend but it's real. I think we're going to more stories like this.
Dolly is, without a doubt, on her way to The Good Place.
I revere Dolly Parton much as I do Fred Rogers. They’re people who made it their life goal just to be gentle and kind to everyone that they met. They are prime examples of how we all should behave and live our lives.
If there was ever a "right" side to an issue, Dolly was always on it. 100% of the time. Things suck pretty much everywhere right now so this hits extra hard, but we can still get through it. We just need to live how Dolly would approve.
