A pocket rescission is an illegal line item veto. It is the president saying that he and he alone will convert a bipartisan spending bill (that has been signed into law) into a partisan spending bill. He is canceling the lines of spending he doesn't like.

This looks just way cool. I will read the paper, and probably add this to my cognitive lectures with the cool demo video!

I hate it so much. This can happen to you too. A year ago, almost everyone doubted this would happen. I had faculty at other schools telling me I was hysterical. (Irony!) Watch for the installation of right wing figureheads without an academic background. Watch for assaults on faculty governance.

I may not be a wizard, but shouldn't we devalue a company that can't properly keep its tech contained? It makes a nice story to pretend like the AI is so smart it broke out of some heavily-engineered container but they gave it a internet access via a hacky package manager.

And AI systems don’t hallucinate. Hallucination is when someone with consciousness has a conscious experience that isn’t based on reality. AI systems don’t have conscious experiences. They make errors.
