I think about a lot women who face bruising, ugly, often personal campaigns, fight to a draw against people who make fun of the way they talk, laugh, look, call them unlikeable, ball busters etc and then have the grace and inner strength to hug it out and put their egos aside for the greater good.

In other Michigan news, the state looks set to elect it's first transgender lawmaker. Joanna Whaley won her Democratic primary and will compete in November for a state house seat, beating a primary opponent who tried and failed to disqualify her for not running under her deadname

It gets an actual chuckle out of me seeing people on here say "now the TRUE test is whether the shitlibs can live up to their own words and line up behind El-Sayed!" only for Stevens, Whitmer, every prominent Michigan Dem, the DSCC, etc. to have endorsed El-Sayed before they can finish the sentence.
