Lvl 28, Au(DHD), queer, USA, he/they I prioritize my safety above all else, and do all in my power to aid any community I'm a part of. my values: equity, empathy, liberation, accessibility, kindness.

I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful

An aircraft passenger oxygen mask: a drop down passenger mask with air bag and yellow plastic mouth and nose cover, oxygen tube has been cut; Demonstration model used by flight attendant crew for passenger instruction. Has text on the side indicating that it's non-functional.

I'm not generally fond of anyone correcting other peoples' grammar unless the author requested it, but what pisses me off extra is some smug idiot pretending not to understand slang in a casual conversation. "You 'seen' it? What does that mean?" oh okay so you're stupid

Why should you support independent trans media? Perhaps because we take on the bias of major news organizations with facts and data. Here's the latest from @evanurquhart.bsky.social, who found NYT wrote 5 stories on the trans sports ban decision without quoting a single trans person. 🤯🤯🤯

A Finnish psychiatrist holds increasing influence over youth gender care worldwide. At home, the inpatient mental health facility she oversees has been repeatedly cited for excessive restraints, invading patient privacy, and other acts of neglect and mistreatment of (cis) adolescents).

I keep getting followed by liberals, and I'm not complaining. I do want to be up-front and say I am a socialist, not a liberal. I have no problem with interacting with people with different views, so long as those views don't overstep my human and civil rights. Also, fuck capitalism.

Content warning: suicide After May Pollard died on a late-January morning, a detective asked her parents a question: Had anyone wanted to hurt her? “A lot of America,” her mother answered. 1/ www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...

Idaho pushed anti-trans laws for years. Then a teen died.

The life and death of May Pollard, 16, provides a window into the tragic effect that legislation and political rhetoric have had on trans people in America.

The US is adopting a strategy of attacking water storage and desalination plants designed to render the region uninhabitable. If continued, this strategy will make the Gulf littoral uninhabitable in the coming decades. Yet there is no discussion of these tactics and their repercussion in the US.

The absolute biggest issue I have with how *many* people are approaching the shooter with years-long history of domestic abuse, is the insinuation that PTSD and other mental health issues are the CAUSE of his violence. Trauma is not an excuse for harming others, much less for killing them.

These two are the same insect, 26 minutes apart. The picture on the left is the regular appearance. The one on the right is what the insect looks like after it is scared and produces a chemical that spreads between its body and its elytra. 🌿🌱 #beetle #insect

A side by side composite image of a beetle. The image on the left shows a gold beetle with some reddish iridescence. The one on the right looks blue with a gold spot in the middle. These are tortoise beetles so they have clear elytra that extend well beyond the shape of its body like a helmet.

I also want to point out that cyclospora in the lettuce means people. Fellow human beings. Were working in and alongside conditions where human feces was present somewhere in the supply chain, and that is a HUGE red flag for labor violations and worker abuse at Taylor Farms.
