The reddit bros who say gardening isn't exercise are very welcome to come over and finish digging these holes, carrying these 14' cedar posts, and rake up all of these branches.
Hi, I'm WifeGPT! Would you like me to assist you in building a foundation for your story? I cite all my sources and work in multiple languages. I provide flexible alternatives for fantasy and science fiction that create a stable framework for magic, technology, religion, and beyond!
I don’t need ChatGPT to help me brainstorm because instead I have WifeGPT, the autistic partner who takes my vague idea about some characters and invents six more + feels out the world setting.
I have no idea how the thing works or where to find it, mostly because I have not gone looking. But also, I refuse to have anything to do with it
RT if you've never had a tab of ChatGPT open, period.
As a human being you have two options: 1) die suddenly 2) become disabled If you live a long life, even if you are healthy and careful, you will eventually hit a point where you are disabled. You will need glasses, or a cane, or medicine... you will need help.
I think the biggest mindfuck about the genocide in Palestine is that we're not even talking about a thin veneer of plausible deniability. The Israeli government is just composed of a group of proud right wing racists bragging about their various war crimes in the Israeli press on a daily basis,
anyway the whole argument is a bit disingenuous coming in the conversation about an arson attempt at a local LGBT+ friendly church, so if you're mad about this all and want to support a community doing work to keep people like me safe in these times, here is one local option
anyway St. Stephen's seems like a rad place, I don't personally attend there but I'm grateful they are around, keeping students and community safer in these hard times I'm guessing they're rattled. If you have the means, they do have a "donate" button on their website ststephenscolumbus.org
Folks are so traumatized right now, and we all have the right to feel that hurt but perhaps consider that your cynicism isn't productive or helpful because no-- our community symbols aren't always false advertising of welcome, they're symbols of us, now being attacked. We can't welcome that
“How does it feel to be queer and live in a red state?”
I live for the ferocity of human connection, not content for the content god. You should try it sometime.
I live for that. I live for the incredibly diverse spectrum of people in my life with centuries of combined experience who argue and riff off and care for each other. genAI is just a house of mirrors, sound and fury signifying nothing. I find that repellent.
This. I'll never understand why people keep trying to peddle genAI to authors (and often authors whose work was fed into the machine) because curiosity and creativity are part of the process for most of us. I love diving down rabbit holes researching for a single line of dialogue. I live for that.
All else aside there is nothing I want or need genAI to do for me. I like reading. I like doing research. I like playing around in spreadsheets. I like interviewing people. I like writing. I like doing these things for myself because I take pleasure in the doing and they make me a better thinker.
Often when given the choice between letting my mom look bonkers and me looking bonkers, I let mom look bonkers because I do not want the hand-to-forehead, pained closing of the eyes to be directed at me. Anyway, this brought to you because mom asked me to move a large stash of cash for her.
I have to admit I am currently unreasonably tetchy about the whole “go vegan for the planet” discourse as someone who used to be vegetarian for reasons of principle.
Realization today: it’s not that one can’t draw boundaries, it’s that every single time it gets discussed and there’s any hint of seeking external validation, then that is chum in the water for the sharks of criticism and projection.
As a Chinese animist, this whole thing is very interesting to see, yes. In my worldview, the robots have no brains but can become ensouled. You take care of your tools not only because it might have a spirit already but that spirit might become sentient with care and some twist of magic.
The robots do not have brains. This is distinct from the possibility of becoming ensouled. Which are both distinct from the need for using care in selecting your tools and treating them with respect once chosen.
“Why do you need so many knives?” “I don’t.” “…….why do you have so many knives?” “Shiny.”
We also got actually told how much budget the police get for murdering our POC fellows, especially Black people and tbh I dunno how anyone can support the police after that. I know people do. It’s incomprehensible.
right-wing media is always hand-wringing about who is convincing young people to be anti-policing, like someone taught me a class on it or paid me or something as if watching police pour liquid all over trash cans full of every belonging my neighbors had wasn't enough to make me form an opinion

ProPublica spoke to dozens of people who had lived in homeless encampments when cities cleared them out in “sweeps.” We distributed notecards so people could tell us about the toll in their own words. ➡️ This is what they wrote:
Plenty of people who didn't want him as president are still fine mocking disabled people, and at best most of you give them a pass if you think they picked a person who deserves to be mocked.
It still sickens me this bigot mocked a disabled reporter and millions of Americans said, “No big deal. That’s who I want as president.”
If you've been following the news, you probably saw that a judge ruled the so-called "homewrecker law" case against Kyrsten Sinema can go forward. There's a lot of misinformation floating around about this ruling, however, so I figured we could take a look at it - and why it matters to you.
I was once at a dinner at college, my friend’s mother took us out to a bistro a few steps above where we usually went (college canteen) and the fig and goat cheese tart was so good I asked for it for dessert and they obliged. Some side eye, but they said yes 😆 Incredible good fortune.
went out to dinner last night and experienced an incredible luxury, which is that if you finish your pad see ew and are sad about it, when the server comes by to ask if you want dessert, you can say "actually, I want more noodles" and they will bring you more noodles

Remember to remind yourself that you are strong, you are loved, and that there is always room in our forest for another monster who would like to wander with us in the mossy gloom.
That aside, 🤷🏻♀️ y’all heard of pheromone-maxing? Well I don’t gotta smell that. Or the buckets of perfume and cologne people use. Or motor exhaust. Or the ten kinds of laundry detergent people used too much of.
I see people are still mocking the wearing of masks in public. Every additional COVID infection increases your chance of Long COVID. You are not immune.
