New analysis of Strength In Numbers/Verasight data today: It’s not just young Democrats who like lefty candidates. Both young and old Democrats rate politicians like Zohran Mamdani highly. The difference is young Dems really don't like the establishment www.gelliottmorris.com/p/2026-08-14...
@keynesaddiction.bsky.social
the problem with dc democrats and the media is they think that republicans are just play acting as fascists because when they speak to them one-to-one they act like perfectly nice people. the msm/dems operate like republicans have a wrestling type persona, but macho man never killed anyone (afaik)
Opinion | It looks like Francesca Hong may lose her gubernatorial primary. But I already wrote a killer 1,500 word op-ed decrying Wisconsin Democrats for nominating her, so I'm just going to publish it anyway.
The "centrist" think tank Third Way is looking to pay someone between $140,000 and $150,000 to spend their days trying to dig up dirt on DSA members. They're trying to sell this gig as "anti-extremism" work, which I find completely disgusting.
Pro-Israel audiences have objected to the suggestion that Bajorans are like Palestinians, as that would cast Israel as the Cardassian oppressors, and Cardassians are often compared to Nazis. open.substack.com/pub/ser1897/...

David Crowley announces during his Democratic primary victory remarks that he and Francesca Hong will campaign together across Wisconsin as part of a “unity tour.”
"One of the things I’m really worried about is: What if Trump tries to have his Department of Justice seize ballots in a live election? That would be terrible. So we have to be on guard. This is not a moment of complacency." We can't let the buffoonish, nonsensical threats lower our guard:
Can Trump steal the midterms? On the pod, I asked election law expert @rickhasen.bsky.social what alarms him most about this fall. His answer is unsettling: The "national emergency" threat is nonsense, but Trump can do other things that are very real. Exchange here: newrepublic.com/article/2142...
Nazis must be taught proper manners.

Scarborough and Brzezinski resume talks with Trump as he returns to power; learn more about their Mar-a-Lago meeting.

Didn't Scarborough go visit Trump at Mar-A-Lago? The problem with the "disavow Piker" argument as a practical political one is that Charlie Kirk was a beloved right-wing activist who the GOP embraced with zero backlash. The GOP doesn't disavow Musk!

A lot of politicians who got in the game in the shadow of Trump are having their minds blown by Mamdani getting attention by being relentlessly positive and responsive to voter’s everyday lives.
@deanobeidallah.bsky.social has an excellent column on the Democratic Party’s real issue: it has a leadership crisis, especially in the Senate. deanobeidallah.substack.com/p/michigan-j...
Michigan just reminded us: Democrats don’t have an identity crisis, they have a leadership crisis.
The grassroots needs to lead!

What interests me about the Hasan Piker freakout -- among Democrats no less -- is that Charlie Kirk's own remarks were so controversial that liberals lost their jobs simply for repeating them online. Kirk was somehow never an anchor for Republicans.
The silent agreement between the parties is to avoid actual issues that have supermajority consensus among voters and instead fight over wealth class-backed, think-tank designed wedge issues while corporate media communicates a 50/50 split, a need for moderation, and paints leftists as dangerous.
"The Dem Establishment Kicked Me Out. Now They're Losing" David Hogg, the former DNC vice chair, writes for Zeteo that the victories of Abdul El-Sayed and other progressives show Democrats didn't lose young voters – they just needed candidates to vote for.

Kathy Hochul doesn't know WTF he's talking about, but goddamit he's popular, so she's there for it. This is how she avoided a serious primary challenge in 2026.
Mayor Mamdani: In the 2012 mixtape 'Rich Forever,' Rick Ross and French Montana expound on what it takes to stay scheming in a system that benefits a select few. We are one step closer to ending New Yorkers' need to stay scheming. 2,000 of New York's cutest will begin learning at free 2-K programs
There's nothing more tiresome than "I'm not a right-winger! I'm a moderate who opposes extremists on both sides (though the only ones I ever get really angry at are the ones to my left)!" That's Bari's message, too, and it's pure bullshit.
We have to step aside and take a back seat. It’s the younger generation’s time to shine and us old timers need to shut the f*ck up and turn the controls over to the younger generation and let them show us what they got going on. I’m turning 60 in a month & I’m okay with progressives taking over.
@toni.bsky.team We need sports, nature and other entertainment channels that are over on X, but wont come here because of political reasons. Government orgs are primarily over there as well.
The Verge has 4.3M followers on Twitter and this article has been up for 8 hours and got almost no interaction at all. The Verge on Bluesky has 360K followers and thousands of interactions. @toni.bsky.team I think things are doing just fine here and I bet The Verge would agree
5. We can blame the centrist consultants all we want but ultimately the D leadership must lead any change. Schumer and Jeffries and Gillibrand don‘t want to shift to grassroots politics; if they did it would alienate the corp and wealthy donors.
